I know you want to sell your items fast, but please don't undercut by several silver at a time. One copper will suffice if you must undercut. Also, please just sell to the buy order if the difference is only like a copper!

When I see listings go from 5g 55s 56c to 5g 0s 0c to 4g 50s 0c, it really makes me cry inside :(

Sigh. I'll never make money!

It's a lot quicker to enter 5g even than to enter 5g 55s 55c. ;)

This is what promotes and healthy economy and makes it like stocks which in turn mean investments. The volatility cannot be controlled but only adapted to :) I have had several times being cut like that but if you give it time it usually bounces back up.

LOL
Good point ..., but while I tend to just match the current listing on goods I know will move (mats, low end rares in the "just above ecto price" range) I tend to undercut more for stuff that doesn't sell as quickly.  I want to give the emotional buyer the feeling (s)he is getting a good deal.

Yeah, I'm going to be patient with it, but only because I hate paying listing fees

i dont get the people who sell one copper above the vendor price, but then the fee causes them to sell below vendor price.

Am i missing something?

I think most people don't understand that the TP takes a 15% cut - 10% from the final sales and 5% is what you pay up front. They're losing money and I'm sure the people posting Buy orders 1copper above vendor value sure do love that people simply don't understand how the TP works.

I've noticed this happens a lot on the weekends.

I've actually almost hit the fill buy order button a few times to realize "wait a minute that's only 1 copper more than vendor price". The buy orders are definitely a trap! xD

I'm fine with some undercutting going on with an item that has a healthy demand, but I get pretty agitated when I see people undercutting each others precursor sell offers by 1 copper. If they want to sell it lower, out of respect for the person being undercut I think they should make a somewhat obvious gap, rather than seeing several sell offers with the same price in gold (and sometimes silver).

So many socialists play MMOs.

Want to stop getting undercut?  Offer a price so low that others will not part with their item for less than you are.  Free market allows you to make the rules.

I have checked 6 references and I can't figure out how this thread could be related to socialism. I'm going to flag this post as 'brash'

Back on topic...  I completely understand the OP and I agree with the logic.  That said, sometimes I'll take a loss to save time.  It's a game and if I want 'instant gratification' in a video game, I'll have it.  XD   I sold a vial of black dye for 2g 50c... and I liked it.

I often sell junk at 1c above vendor only to empty my invy while in a dungeon or while exlporing. I take a small hit on the value, but at least I'm getting money from it while freeing space.

I think he'd be spending money on bigger bags...  noting your point, of course, how long would it take for the extra money made from "junk" to cover the cost of big bags?  Anyway, Tyrus has 3x 20 slot bags and his inventory fills regularly..  but I digress.  XD
