Maybe if you had a LOT of people all farming for parts and combining them together... not sure this is even possible.

Hmm, well if you had a guild dedicated to farming it, you could probably do it. Then you could split the profits. I had a friend who was all for it at one point, but got bored of the grinding fast. (PS: All theory, I don't know much about legendaries, so if my noobness is showing then stop laughing at me. 
)

Well i have yet to try but if people are selling legendaries through buy orders then you can get them with out the grind and flip them for possibly a big profit. Say he bought at 1620g and sold at his asking price on the trading post that is 250g profit after listing and sales tax. Possibly more if someones buys it with out going through the trading post.
I would have tryed this but all my gold is stuck in some items on the trading post and they are not selling.
