So, today I created a Warrior character, since my 80 Engi is built and geared for PvE, my ranger is squishy and trickier to zerg-bust with, and my Guardian does not really suit me all that much.

I would just like to ask what the best(fastest) strategy is for PvE levelling with Warrior. What skills do I get and what weapons do I use, specifically. I can just respec and buy exotics for WvW when I get to 80 anyway.

Bringing this up because I can only play on weekends and I want to smash things in WvW sooner.

HIT ALL THE THINGS

It's PvE, mobs don't run from hundred blades because they're silly geese and you have the largest natural health pool, just gear yourself for damage.

Greatsword is actually useful in PvE (opinion), it's arguably the strongest weapon and doubles as an escape vehicle when you do something stupid.

Grab Endure Pain if you're still suspicious of newfound ability to defeat AI without thinking. "For Great Justice" is the greatest skill on the planet and I'm going to have it tattooed right over my heart, but you might be alone a lot if you're trying to blow through 1-80, so use Signet of Might for all I care (signet warriors are selfish and deplorable and we all laugh at them behind their collective back, but they're pretty useful for solo PvE), just try to incorporate as much damage as possible, it's PvE.

Remember to use your burst, though Berserker's Power and Heightened Focus are grandmaster traits now, so you hopefully won't develop the bad habits that I had to work out of my system recently.

I loathe crafting hahaha, not to mention I can't afford the crafting materials (I am terrible at making money), and if I'm going to farm the mats, might as well PvE level. :P

I'll see how far I can go with crafting before I start pulling the hair from my head next time I play, though.

They added scaling with the signet trait so it's overall less effective then it used to be, but still the best option.

When I speed level a new alt, I do several things. Crafting is one of them because it offers experience points and getting to 400 pre-80 is 10% of your total Exp per craft. It does cost money though but if you know the tricks to crafting cheaply, it can be easy. For instance, jeweler is incredibly cheap to level to 400 if you are a heavy miner and have lots of ores saved up. I had to buy nothing except karma recipes taking Jeweler from 1-400.

For combat, I found that dynamic events were my best bet. The more events I could cram into an hour, the faster I leveled. If you were to level in Metrica, you could do the Fire Elemental chain every 30 minutes which is worth 4 events (5 if you do the Champion Steam Ogre). I would basically bounce around newbie zones doing as many events as possible. Queensdale is another great zone for lowbie events.

Lastly, I also try to complete maps. Each POI, skill point, zone rewards exp and a full map completion gives a bonus exp reward (I think it's 5% or 10%). Unfortunately, this also requires you to do heart missions. At higher levels, I do storyline missions as I can blow through those pretty quick and they reward exp as well.

Edit: Forgot a few other things.
-Eat lots of food and buffs. They all reward an exp bonus.
-Tag as many mobs as possible during events so you get as much exp from kills as possible.

I didn't realy level my warrior in open world. I did Queensdale/Wayfarer and crafted to 30, then dungeoned the rest of the way. I don't know if I'd recommend 100% craft leveling, especially a warrior. Sorta have to play it to learn it.

My thief is almost level 30, so I'll be doing dungeon leveling with her. I wont be on much for the next week or so, but if you see me, feel free to whisper me for a dungeon whenever you're level ready :P

I meant doing the whole dungeon on 1 toon, then switching to lowbie @ end, i don't know if that's how it was recived but that's what i meant, you can do it from lvl 1-80 and its ~1/2 per cof run so a couple levels an hour

I, at least, knew what you meant. I just prefer to do the whole dungeon on one character. I don't really like crippling my group by bringing in an underleveled character for the final boss, and I like to learn the dungeon mechanics on that character while leveling, as opposed to just at level 80 with max traits, max gear, etc. Also, switching out mid final boss stresses me out with load times more than anything >.<

Ultra EM's original post was just about quick ways of getting to 80 so he can smash things in WvW faster. It's true that you won't really learn how to play the class well if you do things like craft but crafting does give you 10% of your total Exp to 80 and it only takes a couple of hours and some gold to go from 1-400. Also, I don't know how receptive PUGs would be to taking in an underleveled WAR just to help them level (unless it's a group of his friends that can grind out dungeons before DR hits).

I level my alts fairly slowly, myself so I can enjoy learning the class. But some people don't really have the time (nor want). :)

Become a chef and take it to 400.  Cheapest crafting in the game.  Only cost me 1.7g because the rest of the mats you get for karma, which shouldn't be too bad since you already have an 80.  Free 10 levels.

Also, one of the achievement rewards gives you a scroll that insta-levels you to 20.  So you could do that, one easy crafting like chef, do some story, and you'll be level 35--enough to start doing dungeon runs.

For the events farming, Queensdale is pretty good 'cause people will be constantly calling out then events, and the waypoints are usually very conveniently located.  Downside is that you need people to do some of the events, like champion cave troll and wasp queen.  For lower levels, I personally like Metrica Province.  Between the Rikiti events and the Reactor, you can constantly be doing dynamic events.

After that, the best dynamic events to leveling were the bridge events in Kessex hills (defend bridge, kill lieutenants, kill modniir chief).  I heard it got nerfed.  After that, the Centaur events in Harathi Hinterlands were good, but last time I was there it was bugged and never went back to check.

Once you get about 45 or 50, the Hylek events in Bloodtide Coast (defend village and griffons) and the holy grounds events in Sparkfly were great.

Once you get to 70, you just go to Orr and farm those events and be 80 in an hour.  Keep in mind, though, that clearing levels at or above Mount Maelstrom's level will reward you with exotics--I got a superior divinity rune from there once.
