So recently everything has gotten insanely expensive lately due to that new patch.
The worst part is that right when this patch comes out, I am in the process of finishing my legendary.
I was going to craft lodes but the wine is 50 silver now.........
The price of Ancient Wood is ridiculous, and right when I was working on my gift of wood.
The price of tier 6 materials has increased significantly over the past months.
The price of ectos is VERY high also, 30 silver each, spending just under 100g for a stack.
The price of precursors is fucking ridiculous. period.
The conversion of gold to gems is really high now, releasing so much gem store items and people convert like crazy, I wonder what the price will be in months to come......
I simply can't make enough gold to keep up with these prices( I make about 20-30g a day)
The Economy is going to drive off all the new players.

The overall situation here is money problems, not everyone can afford 1000's of gold worth of stuff to make their legendary, not everyone is rich like you, not everyone wants to grind for everything.

Dusk- 800-900g
Glob of Ectoplasm- 30 Silver
Ancient Wood Plank - 30 Silver (x250 for Gift of Wood)
Bottle of Elonian wine- 50 Silver
etc.....

Ex.

400g+ of mats needed for my legendary, not even counting how much I already have.

Ummm legendary is supposed to be endgame if you dont like it then dont get it. your supposed to have to work hard for it so quip whining about it being hard to get? also run arah 1 2 and 3 for 7.5 gold a day easy +tokens

There is no "Endgame"
I do want to get it and am going to soon.

I am not whining about anything, I am just explaining why everything is so expensive now.
I run about every single dungeon every day so I do get alot of gold...

Imo the inflation is cuz of ascended, all of a sudden, legendaries are much more in demand, even for me, i really want one, bc my build and grind is once again incomplete. + mats for ascended and crafting to lvl 500 in general, etc, demand drives prices higher, tp flippers are grabbing quickly at the opportunitiy and it snowballs. Now is not a good time for legendaries. its just the case for all markets. However, i have no prediction about whether the prices will calm down and go back down... but it was affected by ascended. and apparently elonian wine increase in price is a bug and mistake that they're going to revert

Prices should stabilize after a few more weeks, though they'll be much higher than before.

T6 materials will most likely stay high, sadly.  Legendaries are going to be, well, good.  Not only has Anet stated that all legendaries will always have the maximum gear tier level (exotic before, ascended now, whatever they introduce next, etc).  On top of that, legendaries will be able to freely change their stats.

Though if Anet adds alternate ways of getting ascended weapons, that should help too.

If you don't have your precursor yet, don't buy it yet. I'm waiting to see if the announcement of new legendary weapons/precursor crafting (whenever the f*** those happen) will affect the price before I buy the legend/zap.

Yeah, t6 materials are expensive. Just gotta suck up that part. You don't "need" to buy ectos though. Just salvage all the rares you get and use dungeon tokens to buy the trash rares from CoF+ to salvage. I know that's not what you're saying in this thread, but ectos were 30s+ in the past, so this isn't anything really new for me, and t6 mats have been this price for awhile.

Also, don't buy planks of wood. Usually they are more expensive than buying the logs. I'm not sure in this case, since all I do is sell ancient wood, but definitely make sure to check that before buying them. Or, I don't know how long you have on your legendary, but if it's a long time? Maybe do a few daily gathering runs. Sure, it'll take FOREVER with ancient wood, but I usually get about 20 logs a run, and I skip any nodes in ML. Times that buy however many 80s you have that can run (for me, 6) and that's an okay amount a day...with the current prices each run saves you about 2g.

Or just wait it out. Everyone is crazy buying this stuff right now for ascended crafting. It COULD cool down and prices may lower, but I'm not counting on that.

I do have my precursor, I bought it before the inflation thank god. It was 52g for Rodgort's Flame and now its around 90g.

Oh I havent  bought a single t6 mat and ecto, all the mats I have is from gathering and the ectos is ALL from salvaging rares. I usually get my rares from WvW,Dungeons,Tokens,World Events, and Crafting( I'm a Huntsman 400). I have about 100 of each mat now and 230 ectos.
(Was farming Orrr and Nodes all day yesterday)

Yea I know that but I am not buying them, I have been node farming for the past couple days because I am not paying 10 silver for one log. I have about 100 logs so far.

I really hope the prices do drop, atleast for the wood, but I am also doubting it since people are going crazy for the ascended weapons.

Lol, I am kind of used to surviving on one bank tab, I just put all the stuff for my legendary and all the shit I don't want in my inventory there, other than that I keep everything in my inventory in my 200 slot bag space. Plus I REALLY don't want to spend another 30g on gem conversion, I just got that super explosion finisher,name change, dye kit, makeover kit, Royal Pass..... Wow that sucked up alot of my money.

I do think that the changes they've made have put a huge dent in the in-game economy.  And it could end up being a very serious problem if it stays this way long-term.

But there's no way of knowing yet how things will play out.  I'd not even bother buying a precursor right now though, they're overpriced because of the newfound demand.  Just wait and see if precursor crafting comes out, or keep taking dumps into the Mystic Toilet and hope to get lucky.

What's funny though, is how many people are getting legendaries left and right even right now when the prices have peaked. Like I just got my sunrise last night, i've seen a huge increase in legendaries, many friends made them left and right one after another almost every day theres someone i know or see that ocmpleted one. The two gs have been such a common weapon lately and what's more is i see many Eternity's now... like as soon as the patch is out, i personally know three people that got Eternity's within the span of a few days LOL.

Somehow, the prices don't seem to be affecting some people, they're pushing harder and rushing faster to get their legendary so they can have ascended stats, because, the ascended weapons are a huge grind too, so thats why there's such a drive for legendaries, might as well grind a little more for auto-stat-updating, stat changing legendaries.

It's not smart, but people are impatient people. like me xD

I think it's plenty smart to go with a Legendary and skip the Ascended tier altogether.  Legendaries offer dynamic stat adjustment and will always be best-in-slot, even if they later add another tier above Ascended (which I'll note that the devs haven't actually ruled out as a possibility down the road, along with level cap raises).  Ascended weapons require purchasing the individual recipes for inscriptions and weapon types, meaning if you want to change builds, you'll need to craft one weapon for each and every build.

Plus, they'll drop very rarely from world bosses, once the changes being done to Tequatl take effect on other world bosses as well.

So basically, the Ascended weapons are only a "deal" if you're 100% certain you're sticking with your existing setup for a fairly long time.  Otherwise, you're probably better off just crafting a Legendary and being done with it.

I just started seriously going for my Sunrise. Though I have accumulated so much stuff that I'm half there already. I think I'll have to wait until precursor crafting comes out cause precursor prices are crazy.

Also I have one bank slot too lol. I keep most of the useless items on my ranger like skins and stacks of accound-bound dust. I also have almost fully upgraded guild storage for my personal guild of witch I am the only member. 200 slots. How much would that be in gems now?

TOO INCONVENIENT.
I'm going to be waiting for precursor crafting for my next legendary, which will be either Twilight, Bifrost, or Bolt. Those precursor prices...oh jeez. Thankfully, lodestone prices are dropping. Hoping that onyx lodes stay cheap so that I can nab a bunch once I finish my t6 mats for minstrel.

One of the main reasons i gave up with making my sunrise..... T6 mats... costs a leg and a half and precursors are just.. unreachable for me. Ill just stick with my twilight forever and ever and everrrrrrrrr............   .   .        .            .        and ever!
