I wouldn't even say it was cute the first time, myself.  Like I said before, I think those sorts of threads are honestly just annoying at best, and at worst, a cry for attention.  I respect a person's decision to leave quietly much more than a big vocal "I'm leaving because people are mean!" rant.  Bridges, burning, yada yada.  >_>

First off, that post by reina was all true. i silently left. but the reason i left without saying anything is because reina already put it down perfectly in her post and i did not need to say anything else. she covered it all. good luck ebay, hopefully things turn around for you. bye.

its not that we don't care or don't like you specifically.  It is that there have been 5 or 6 threads about "Goodbyes".

Don't think me made of stone, but i have no allusions about the workings of an MMO.  I know I will not be playing gw2 forever, no one will, so eventually everyone will be leaving.  No need to make it a big spectacle. Plus, all these many, many, many self serving attention grabbing goodbye threads are taking attention from the actual issue of being douchebags to female gamers.

And yet, the fact that this post exists means that you didn't leave silently.

Because if you were "leaving silently", you never would have found it necessary to announce your departure here.  See, silence is sort of a requirement in "leaving silently".

And really, these threads and posts are getting tiring.  I've had a couple of friends who left the server months ago, but you know what?  They didn't have to announce that they left like it was some sort of big event.  Because it wasn't.  We still go on dungeon runs and such on a regular basis, so it's not like they left my life forever.  'cuz there's this new thing called guesting, which lets you play with your friends on all servers.  It's kind of cool like that.

People put way too much emphasis and meaning on something that has virtually none in a game where you can guest to other servers freely.

no one cares if you're leaving the server. Also, if you post a "goodbye" thread, we expect you to actually leave. otherwise, you look like an attention whore who wants to hear people beg you to stay.
