Seperation of People a bit

Since we have the invader title I suggest we have a guest sub forum for every main thread so this is where people can post that are invaders. So when we want to deal with it we can go there if not we don't have to be forced to see all this bitterness and back and forth between people. I understand that I could just avoid the forum but I don't feel as though I should have to since it is ultimately the Ehmry Bay forums.
If this is going to require more work or even manual verification than I'd be happy to offer my assistance as I'm not going to make a suggestion but not be part of the solution.

One issue is that there is no way to reliably and consistently verify whether someone is on Ehmry Bay or not. Manual verification would require that someone meets up with another player in a WvW map to ensure that the player is actually on Ehmry Bay at that time. Still, in order for that verification to be accurate the forum name would need to either match the player name or the player's account name. That in itself is not practical because many forum members use names which are different from their in-game names.
In addition there's the fact that someone can get verified today and switch servers tomorrow. Verifying membership on a daily, weekly, or even monthly basis is a huge amount of administrative overhead which still does not guarantee that non-EB folks aren't getting in since there are quite a few folks who actually have multiple accounts, especially those players who are interested in meta-gaming.
So if the premise that non-EB players cannot be reliably locked out is accepted, then it begs the question of whether the effort to lock some of them out via manual verification is worth the effort.
The other issue is one of accessibility in general. Making it easy for players to participate (i.e. 1-click registration via Facebook or Twitter) puts next to no burden on players to start posting. If there was a complex system in place that even EB members would need to go through before they have access to the WvW section of the forum then some would simply not do it at all.
There are two easy solutions I see to counter the negative posts of people who are no longer on this server:
- Have enough self-discipline to not reply to shitposts.
- Engage members in activities and post good news that happens every day on this server to outweigh the negative news.

Every single hour of every single day something happens on the server that makes people log back in day after day. Players wouldn't play if it wasn't fun for them to do so. The tendency on the Internet is to only post all the shit that happens because misery seeks company. Good news gets rarely posted (outside of very few members who consistently post good news) because those who participate in good things are too busy doing that rather than posting it online.
Good points and thanks for the information I guess I will try to actively start posting positive things. I happen to have the advantage (sort of) to be disabled and have nothing but time lol.
