Most of the special event ones are awful.

I agree. I tried the Wintersday one once and never came back. To me, the event JPs are more trial-and-error than actually figuring out where to go and how to get there.

Really? I used to knock it off for the daily.

The Mad King one needs you to be pixel-perfect though, so isn't a favourite.

I'm so bad at jumping puzzles I'm probably worse than Sanji.  They troll me more than any forum avatar ever could.

That said, I'd be grateful for any help in getting the achievements out of the way, just so that I NEVER have to do them again. :P

JPs tend to do the exact opposite of calming me down. I've gotten better at them over time, but still, it seems like there's always some diabolical bit of scenery that mocks my every effort to jump over it.

I am pretty sure I am the worst one here at jumping puzzles.  I die at least 5-10 times a day due to fall damage in WvW.  This is why I sometimes pay the progeny to do the jumping puzzles for me . . . .

The wintersday one wasnt too bad, but i have to agree about the clocktower. I spent many lives trying , finally did it. And i have never gone back in since the first year it was released lol.

I can get to the top of the clocktower, where I am turned away by the large, flashing "NA players only" sign

I used to do the clock tower nearle every day first shot or farming the wintersday one for the gift...

I really have an hard time figuring how such great wvw players that have amazing fighting coordination and would probably kick my ass can't even make simple jumps :s

How amusing, I rather like the clock tower. The 1st time I did it I literally sat there for a half of a day trying to get it. Once I did It was pretty easy to finish it regularly. The wintersday one on the other hand I have never completed. The 1st part is easy peasy, But I couldn't ever get past the exploding gifts.

Straight up the middle, the split second the closest gift spawns.

The turning point in the process of growing up is when you discover the core of strength within you that survives all hurt.”  ― Max Lerner

Then you do jumping puzzles and discover that no matter how strong and mature you thought you were . . . . you are still just a raging monkey with a keyboard!

That's the way to go, but if you are not the absolute first person to go you need to be prepared for evasive maneuvers. I ended up in my own personal instance of the Winter Wonderland jumping puzzle, and discovered that every time I did the gingerbread route there would be gifts missing from the rows. The other paths were fine.

I love jumping puzzles, I find them fun to do. The motivation to do them often has disappeared with the JP monthly going away, but I still like to do them every now and then if one is nearby. Super Adventure box really improved my jumping skills. Now anytime I'm having trouble in a puzzle, or just a jump heavy area, I'll throw up my "Honors in Applied Jumping" title. Ya know, 'cause it helps. :P

which is why I love Ayin Maiden. There's no time for puzzles when weapon materials must be won!
