Public Stronghold April 14th (24 Hours)

So stronghold...It was a fun game mode when I played it at EGX but I feel like it could have had a better tutorial so i'll write out what I know below so people are a little more informed before jumping into their first game.

While you are in a Public game it will be 5v5, You'll likely get the same single map we got at EGX and PAX which contains two lanes (One to each teams base and lord). On each of these lanes there will be a spawn point to the edge of the map where you can summon a hero at the right time, The times that you can summon a Hero are set to the same system as [Stillness] on Temple of the Silent Storm so a hero can be summoned 11:30, 8:30, 5:30, and 2:30. (Maybe not 11:30 I'm not to sure).

A Hero is essentially a Lord killer, You summon them when you are going to rush the enemy base or you summon them to deny you're enemy that advantage if you are on the back foot, They will not attack players while heading towards the enemy base so they can be sniped easily if they are not defended.

You can summon two regular NPC types either Archers or Door breakers, Multiple Door breakers at the start of the game seemed to be obnoxiously powerful with a large group to defend them (We normally ran 3-4 people running the Door breakers with Swiftness and in some cases Stealth and pretty much got strait into the Lords room with our Pre-made team) Archers are good for clearing enemy NPC's or supporting Door breakers but honestly a good player can do the same job I would only summon them after both gates are down and start with a rush tactic.

Though because of this it is important to have at least one dedicated defender though that is not to suggest the defender must be a tank with no damage quite the opposite as the Door breakers will just run and focus the doors which will melt he/she will need to be able to clear them out quickly and be competent at fighting outnumbered against aggressive pushes, Though you have Defensive NPC's who will kill the Door breakers quickly a smart aggressor will probably already have them aggro'd to him or dead.

Hm..what else? Well there is a supply Depo in the middle of the map linked by both paths where you can channel multiple supply to summon new NPC's of which you can carry 2 supply or 3 if you kill a player while carrying 2 and pick up theirs. (Yes you have to summon the Door breakers and Archers yourself rather than them spawning in waves.) and each team has a access to a Treb, Though useful I would imagine to drop Poison clouds on the Supply Depo or Hero spawn points at the right time I cannot actually recall a single game in EGX where anyone used them.

To win the game either have more points when the time runs out or kill the enemy lord it's that simple.

Oh yes! Take swiftness! Just trust me you'll want it.
