I hadn't seen a thread for these guys yet, so I decided to make one :)

I know that not everyone has seen them, so I have added a pic, and I am working on the shadow play thingy to maybe have some video too.

They seem pretty user friendly, I was able to flip camps, and do that sort of thing within playing  one for about 20 minutes.  I know a couple of people have set up builds etc.

They seem like a support class the healing and condi cleanse in Centaur stance is very powerful.  I would say they look like they would out heal any class in the game that I have seen, if you put them into clerics, etc.  There is a DPS build too, but it wasn't nearly as impressive.

I've been finding it underwhelming at best. Abysmal damage output in PvE regardless of setup, and I felt like there was a real lack of viable CC, mobility, and defensive abilities.

Then again, it's new, unfinished, and it takes me forever to get semi-competent at a class, so maybe I'm being too quick to judge. Still, initial impressions this beta are unfavorable for sure.

I fought a few rounds against someone in ICEE that was running one while I was on my warrior. It was pretty much a roflstomp in my favour every match no matter which build he put together, though at least one build was pretty good at postponing the inevitable and may be good for holding points in pvp or delaying camp flips till the cavalry comes.

It may have been his unfamiliarity with the class, but it was pretty lackluster in a fight.

Flutts put together a clerics build that hasn't gotten lower than 95% health yet.  It doesn't really have any DPS though.  As a class it does generally lack condie and power. It looks like a support class.

The defensive stuff is a bit random, staff 3 is a reflect and 2 handed hammer 4 is a block.

But for flipping camps etc, I was just able to face-roll them, and I didn't do any kind of build, which seems promising.  Most stuff I have seen while it was still in Betas has been buggier, and less user friendly.

Well, I haven't played since the last beta, but I thought it did decent dmg with mace/axe and has/had a lot of potential for might stacking by itself (extremely easily too). I'm not sure what they've done since the last beta, and since I haven't pre purchased I haven't tired them this go round.

underwhelming is the general feeling for me too.   They are fine, the graphics are pretty cool.. If you like fluff and survivability then i guess its for you.  If you wanna faceroll, play something else.

I made a video, but I am still figuring out Shadowplay, and I didn't know what to record so it is very random.  If there is something someone wants to see, or a suggestion they want to make let me know :)

Support was fun for me and brought be right back to gw1 and ritualists. Ventrari really gave me a throw back feel.  In the power side it was lacking but so was shiro legendary and the dual swords that will play to dps anwyays so we didn't really see it YET.  It seems to force you to pick a roll though as the weps just don't make sense in certain contexts so customization drops off but I loved ventrari enough to be interested in playing it on release.   Problem with that is rev will basically be locked out of pve, prob pvp, for me and be strictly wvw play specific.  I didn't feel the bunker i think I should have to be pvp viable... Felt soft.

For some reason, I find the act of moving Ventari's tablet around constantly to be rather amusing, especially when you're running along and it kind of swoops in front of you.

Also, the dwarf's road is a lightning field (on a 5ish second recharge), and the hammer has two blast finishers, so perma-swiftness.

Other than that, not very impressed.

The Staff animations are awesome, especially with Bifrost.

It's definitely got some cool stuff in its kit, but it's really too early to judge a lot of it, still.  From what they've told us about the Shiro legend so far, it seems likely that a lot of builds will include that one, so not having access to it right now is pretty limiting.  Centaur feels a little clunky to use effectively in the fast paced environment of PvP, but Dwarf has a lot of really nice stuff.  I look forward to trying Shiro+Dwarf in future betas.

Maybe it'll be okay once everything else is finished, but I can't help but to feel like Revenant needs weapon swap, though (even if that means extending some of the cooldowns to balance it).  None of the weapon sets really cover all the bases by themselves.  And swapping among two Legends doesn't offer nearly as much as an Elementalist swapping among Attunements or an Engineer swapping among Kits; it's closer to what a Necromancer would look like if it only had access to one weapon and Deathshroud.

Had a fury build planned out for a few months now and was finally able to try it out... Even with Rage Runes and full zerker it still hit like a wet noodle. It's attacks seem very slow and predictable on top of that so far. It later appeared that in full dire gear on a Mallyx condi build- it actually had hire dps than the complete glass canon power build.
The mallyx skills also seemed to be the most practical to me, at least in a pvp sense. You virtually had Consume Conditions as a heal, and could use "Save Yourselves" or a boon corruption at will. Then Unyeilding Anguish became the trolliest skill I saw for it. You just wait until you see someone (friend or foe) get downed, then throw Unyeilding Anguish right on their body. It teleports enemy bodies away, making it harder for other enemies to rez them, and when placed over a downed ally it makes it impossible for enemies to stomp them.

I dunno. People are talking about this Shiro legend like it's gonna be the cure-all for the rev's apparent DPS shortcomings, but even if it is, where does that leave the three legends we've seen thus far? If Shiro (and Glint?) deliver the damage output people obviously want—and my hopes aren't high—who's going to use anything else?

Adding Shiro for DPS would make sense, there was a tanky stance(dwarf), a healing stance(centaur), and a demon stance (trippy). Adding a fourth stance for power would make sense since Engi and Ele have 4 options.

As for usefulness, if I were defending/taking a keep in AC fire I would want the Ventari stone next to me.  It heals a lot, removes conditions and would free up other classes to to dps.  Revenant is the balance to all the increases we have seen in the strength of conditions.  If you had a 20 man group you would most likely want about 2 of these guys.

Also just like with an ele when you switch attunements you can switch to new skills while the old ones are on a timer.

In my eyes it's definitely not a cure all, but it'll provide those much needed damage multiplier traits that people love. (+10%, +2% per X on you, etc.)

Well, Rev got the much desired "anime" flavored legend I guess. Mobility and high damage will probably ensure it's the most overused one by far.

So apparently the revenant can now swap weapons. While I still feel that a lot of the skills/utilities we've seen are lackluster at best, weapon swapping will at least bring the class some much-needed flexibility.

That's a really positive change.  It takes me from being really concerned about the class to really excited to play with it in the next beta event.  I love a lot of what the weapons do in a vacuum, but independently none of them are nearly well-rounded enough to be the basis of a good build, and the profession mechanic isn't "deep" enough to compensate.  But being able to weapon swap basically completely solves my biggest issue; it's exactly what I asked for.

Having the ability to weapon swap might make me actually try this class out.
