Just thought I would start a topic up on the TP.  I find the trading post to be really addictive and good money can be made or lost depending on how you play it.  

So halloween is in and right now whats hot is those weapon skins.

If your not interested in them I would sell today or tomorrow if you happen to get one from the Chests.  

Candy corn seems to be involved in some recipes from what I am seeing on the net as far as permanent armor and weapon skins.  its really low right now cause alot of servers had that infinite door that was bugged.  

People still on the look out for the longbow Ice bow so thats waiting to be discovered hopefully that makes the glacial lodestones go back cause they tanked hard.

Candy Corn is also needed for the first step of the scavenger hunt to load the meter weapon thingy.

Here is ONE of the materials for the craftable permanent short-bow. To be honest, this is absolutely ridiculous. Why would they add weeks of grind for Halloween?

Also, people are talking about how they've been opening 100's of chests and getting no skins. I don't think it's worth it to buy chests right now.

This is so disheartening to people like myself who will never see that item because the price is so high.  I suppose I need to learn about exploits sooner to stock up on money from broken events and free, instant server transfers for mining.  I never find about about things like that until after they are fixed.

Doesn't look like it's worth it for a casual player. I'll have to see what my Black Lion Chests are going for on the TP.

I opened 7 chests and got nothing Halloweeny. Not even a tonic. Oh well.

Look at it this way, now that you know what you need you have a whole year to farm for it ahead of next year's Halloween event!

There has to be more to it than that.  I mean the skins seem ok some are really nice some are ok.  Isnt the halloween event like acts so there is still more to come?  Thats the impression I was under currently.

Unless they want to give away 100 destroyer lodestones...I don't think so. We'll just have to wait and find out.

Kinda disappointed with the items given away in this event. I want the shortbow, but they make it require months of grind. Pretty disappointed. They should be given away from just doing Halloween activities, not get it 3-5 months later after curshed shore farming 24/7.

I don't really like any of the weapons, so this isn't such a huge disappointment to me. I am slightly disappointed that the potions you can get recipes for are account bound when you make them. That means you have to have a lvl 400 artificer if you want to enjoy those potions because people can't make them and then sell them.
I don't know why they decided to make these weapons almost as unattainable as a legendary(although those are pretty attainable if you want to grind forever ) I hope they do something about it because halloween is supposed to be fun, not a grind fest.

That being said. I'll probably just sell all my halloween mats in the TP. I already got the monthly candy corn eating achievement and the ToT bag achievement...sooooo....yeah. I don't need any of the mats since I don't think I'll be making anything.

Arent the weapon skins only temporary so you will lose the weapon skin after the event finishes? or does temporary mean they are only temporarily available and your weapon will be permanently skinned?

I know a lot of people are not super excited about the Halloween items now that the event is here, but I still think Candy Corn prices will sky-rocket after the event is over. The recipes will still remain but there will be no more ways to get Candy Corn, and as a condition damage Mesmer, I actually like the level 80 food item (the pumpkin cookies), so I'm sure people will be using Candy Corn even after the event is finished.

I've got a little over 2000 stockpiled at the moment, will be buying more as the price stays low and the event goes on. :3

I've been stockpiling mine, but buying them while they're so low priced is also a good idea....I might do that as well. I used to make money in GW by doing stuff like this. Farming holiday mats and then reselling during the next holiday or down time. I'd also farm the items you needed for armor during presearing and sell those to the lazy people who didn't want to go find five aloe seeds.

Looks like Glacial lonestones have gone up in price I sold a little early but was still profit.  Bought in at 11s yesterday they got to 24s I sold at 21s so Im ok with I have a feeling anything that deals with the Legendary Torch is about to go up somone just made it and it looks good like really good.

I actually looked up wintersday on the wiki as I wasn't a gw1 player.  The dates are 15th december till sometime jan I believe very christmas/ice themed.  You can see on the wiki the items that where released for gw1 so it give you a idea of what might get released for wintersday.  

The event on the 15th of november is new so I have no clue what to look at to try to make a profit.  I think its going to be similar to the halloween event have stay looking at the boards to see what is dropped and posted and try to get in quick.

What a great birthday present. Wintersday starts on mah birfday. Must be because arenanet loves me so much that this is actually going to be the Heylo celebration...not Wintersday.

I would assume eggs would be more for easter time....but maybe for gingerbread cookies?? That might be something you'd need them for. or Eggnog...okay maybe I will stock up on eggs.
