The Great Ehmry Bay Migration

Arriana Oakheart's Photo Arriana Oakheart 26 Jan 2014

So as many have heard, there are a lot of guilds/individuals planning to transfer off server within the very near future....If you are planning to move, or are moving, please post in this thread with the server that you are planning to move to.

I have been on Ebay since pre-release and it has been my home. I would never have thought of transferring but it seems like all my friends are leaving, what is home if the family isn't there??

If it comes down to it I will be transferring off server as well, I would like to go where the majority of migrants are going.

This will not be an easy decision, and I will always be here if any of you need anything.

Truly yours,

Arriana

Wow.  It's not like we haven't had guilds leave before.  It's posts like this that will turn it into a migration.  Ehmry Bay will still have a WvW presence.  We will still be going strong.  More guilds and people are staying than leaving, by far.

I wish the best of luck to those leaving.

Those on the ropes about everything should just wait a week or two and see how it affects everything rather than decide on the spot. It's not like those leaving are going to disappear if you don't follow immediately.

Plus those who may be getting second thoughts about moving should think about how it affects those who are going through with it. Those moving are counting on the people who say they are going to be there with them. If you transfer over just to get cold feet and transfer back, you've offended those who stayed behind and those who left.

Go at it with a level head. There's no rush.

Longterm eBay will be good. I'm probably transfering myself for now but most will stay. It's just the old guard and few other key people who are leaving and that's not ebays fault. It's the broken system that ANET refuses to fix thats the source of disillusionment. You poke something enough times and things break.

I think ZOMG and Valhalla will grow quickly to fill the void left by the by gh and ZOD while SM becomes the big skill guild and then smaller guilds will emerge. Honestly I say wait out and see which individuals stay. Grav and razgerb are for example staying and I'm sure there are others. Just wait and see.

I think people are sorta underestimating the gravity of this particular move.  This move is taking our two (three?) biggest remaining guilds, and while I've nothing against ZOMG or Valhalla, I can't recall seeing them field equal numbers to the guilds that are leaving, either.

In the long term, yeah, Ehmry will stabilize somewhere in the ranks.  In the short term?  This is going to have a pretty big impact.  Look at our current PPT for evidence of that.  There will be at least one tier drop, if not more.

As for me?  Eh, I don't know what I'll do yet.  WvW hasn't been keeping me interested very much lately, so it doesn't bother me too much to see people leaving, but only a handful of my friends are staying here....most of the rest will be moving or did months ago.

I may be joining in the transfers off Ebay. Love this place, I really do, but the only thing keeping me going to WvW all this time was all my favorite faces there. They're not going to be here anymore, and since I can always guest to do anything PvE related on this server (god knows how much I abuse guesting), I may just transfer for WvW and stay here for PvE.

Think you may have carried one or two zeros too far Riz.

More guilds/people have left Ehmry than have stayed (at least on the WvW side of things). With this next change up two of the largest guilds on the server will either be moving the majority of our members, or a significantly large chunk. Of which that chunk would be made up of the more WvW oriented people.

WvW will take a big hit. Saying otherwise is just whimsical fantasy.

WvW hasn't been about PPT for a while now unless you are 1 of the handful of servers who can manage 24/7 coverage.  Now, the best you can hope for without getting frustrated, it's about the battles.  Server will adjust in tier either down or staying the same and those individual battles will end up feeling the same as they always have.  Find the zerg, or avoid the zerg... nothing is changing except for what is occurring on that other map that used to be covered by a guild you weren't in.

Been a lot of drama... more than enough to go around.  That's never fun.  Sometimes a shakeup is good to get everything resettled and fun again.Personally, I think if you leave to avoid drama you'll just be disappointed at what you find 6 months down the road on a new server but I dont fault anyone for trying.  For those staying, I think you'll be surprised at just how much everything feels pretty much the same on Friday reset in a couple weeks.

Still a ton of fun WvW and PvE guilds on the server that will make game time fun during the times you play.

People come and go, life goes on.  Remember that many of those who are leaving have been active and committed eBay players from the start and are good friends to many.  Wish them well on their new server.  It's their playtime and thus their decision to try and find somewhere where they can get more value for the time they put in.

Losing a bunch of active WvWers will undoubtedly affect the quality and activity in WvW, but servers go up and down in participation all the time, and there are plenty of other server which had an exodus at some point or another yet the server itself still exist.  If you don't sweat the stats then you'll still find people to kill in WvW, and there will still be people trying to kill you.

I will be staying. WvW is not greener the higher you go, even feel boring for me...

You know, it`s only a handful of players, albeit a couple of our leaders, that decide to leave. Not entire guild. I`m in ZoD and heard about it on the forum lol... Pretty sad. 20 players have decided to move to another server. If 300 sheeps follow... Oh well...

I bet we will go down to tier 6 and stabilized there. Ebay has been in tier 4-5 since forever. A change might be a good thing. To those that want to transfer just to try something else, I suggest you stay because Ebay will be something else after this exodus. And WvW is lower tier is great. Lot of roaming everywhere. There is still dedicated players building siege and upgrading. Commander that run around to lead  the pugs. Mini skill groups of 5-10 players instead of 20+. Overall the participation of each players has more impact in lower tier and hence feel more rewarding. Match are slower pace too. Less zerging / karma train. Easier to upgrade your objective if you defend them a little bit.

We are getting a free transfer down paid by other players! Time to start fresh!

My decision is not based on WvW whatsoever... I could care less whether we win or lose. It's the fact that most of my in-game friends are leaving. I mean, it's like a full plate of food; you eat the food then it's all gone..you're still hungry, do you go get more? Or do you stay staring at the empty plate?

This Migration is massive and for ppl to say "Guilds leave all the time"  Not like this.   100+ PPl are leaving within the week and more in the  following week.  Not just small Guilds either but the main PPT / defenders of WvW are leaving.  The core essentials.

Great. Some must fall so that others may prosper. Never again will I have to sludge through another boring week of DB or BP.
