Love!!!! the first pic Fraanikins...as like Silvernos...the background is gorgeous I would definetely see an army of ennemies or a beautiful maiden appear out of the misty gloom to heirhold the main man piece:)

This is actually a photo manuipulation. I did it something like 2 years ago from a couple photos I had taken when my brothers were shooting bow. I stumbled across it on facebook while looking at some of my old stuff. I like it so much I wanted to share.

I admit, I've never really liked photomanip—I dunno, kind of an uncanny valley thing, I guess?—but that's pretty cool all the same.

Ah YES~! Definitely how I felt when I watched Beowulf. I didnt realize at 1st that is was CGI, but nothing FELT right about it.  Thats when it struck me, and I couldnt watch the rest of it.

Yeah, I kinda felt the same about Tintin (which was a weird movie to begin with, but I digress). CG can be awesome, but I think it works better when it's more stylized/less photo-realistic (e.g., The Incredibles). People rag on anime characters for being "bug-eyed," but that sort of exaggerated character design can actually make the animation easier to process for the viewer.

I love that photo-manip it is really cool.
However, manipulating video is time consuming and requires a lot of skill.  I think that is why it looks so bad in a lot of movies.  They are churning things out in a more factory environment.  As a result it lacks artistry and looks strange instead of awesome.  It is funny, but I think that sometimes when a movie has too big of a budget it tends to be very bad.

I need to stop being lazy and work on my 3d more, mainly 3d textures. Hand drawn textures are a pain in the ass.

Back in February I hand drew my first seamless texture. Not many too awfully many people have the patience for hand drawing seamless textures.

Version 1's normal map isn't as strong, For more of a cartoony look,
Version 2 is a lot stronger, and even though these are hand drawn textures and not realistic ones, you can get a nice realistic feel from the normal maps on Version 2.

I was listening to Bach Cello Suites and it called to me to make some art with a cello. So it was gonna be a celtic maiden, then it turned into a Kelpie.

Probably not because I can't draw animals. I get frustrated when something is draw doesn't look right then I rage quit.
