I got the Star Wars humble bundle. After playing Republic Commando, I had to deal with the deep sorrow of learning the sequel was canceled. But on the bright side, I love turning this of during a dogfight in the middle of a giant battle with capital ships in Elite.

OMG, how did I miss this? I loooove the Republic Commando music. I've only played maybe 20 minutes of the game (curse you, massive Steam library of games I'll probably never get around to!), but I've enjoyed the OST for years.

Pick a weekend and power through it. It's probably 8-9 hours total. While it's aged compared to most shooters, I still had a blast.  I'm sorta hoping the new battlefront will have a single player similar to republic commando.

It started playing last night when two of us were cataing  outer bay.  Seemed befitting considering we were expected to get zerged by one group or the other at the time.  We did in fact get zerged by both. https://youtu.be/OrrE5bCA5lg

Great actor too, did lots of good stuff in the 80's. He was in films by Francis Ford Coppola, Jim Jarmusch (Biff knows!), and a neat little movie called Iron Weed. He also provided the weirdest moment of Roy Orbison and Friends: A Black and White Night when he flubs an organ solo during "Ooby Dooby" and just starts mashing keys instead.

Anywho, I don't have a song exactly, but we were discussing 8-bit music in game over the weekend and that led me to discover Bit Brigade. What they do is pretty cool. Basically, they have someone play through an NES game on stage (which is projected on a screen behind the band for the audience to see), and they play the soundtrack live. They're great at what they do, and it gives a new appreciation for the imagination of the people who were composing this stuff back in the day. Here's a small sample from Mega Man 2, but there are high quality vids of entire sets to be found on youtube if it sounds like your kind of thing.
