Lol, nah they only ever have access to low value green items anyway. It's mainly stuff Chappy and I pick up from lions arch jumping puzzles or dragons chests. Lol he did leave the food.... always leave the food.

I wish gw2 had the ability to set a maximum daily withdrawal limit for each rank. The bank in this game has very limited restrictions.

Really we are not concerned with the value of the items, as rare and exotic stuff was kept elsewhere, its more the moral of it all.

It's the manner in which we manage our bank that is the problem, but there is little alternative when you use the bank how we have been.
We kept the larger Treasure Trove to be used for green items that people pick up and don't use. We needed to keep the access levels for this section relatively loose because it was hard enough to get honest members to look through the bank and actually take things that are useful to them, making them request the item from an Officer would add an extra deterrent.

Also given that most of the items are only worth a mere 60-90 copper at a vendor, it is hard to comprehend the level of retardedness required to decide "imma steal and sell that shit" knowing that it would result in expulsion from the guild and blacklisting on the server. I can only conclude that these morons don't think that far ahead.

To be honest it is not a huge loss of value, this latest heist would have probably netted a mere 1 gold, but it is getting quite annoying. It is hard to find the motivation to stock the bank when i know that 90% of the items will end up in the hands of the next thieving bastard that decides to rip us off.

I thought i had our bank secured by increasing the time new members had to wait before they can even see what is in the bank. This method had already exposed a couple of potential offenders.
The latest member to steal from us was number 17 of 184 so he has been around for a while and i was quite shocked to see his name come up.

We have switched bank permissions so that members can only access the smaller Stash section and we have moved all valuable items to the Treasure Trove. This will mean that the number of green items will outnumber slots in the Stash, but Bubbley and i will just have to re-stock items as they are taken from the Stash and occasionally rotate the inventory to make sure members get a good variety.
The other big profit maker for the latest thieves has been the stacks of medallions we had in the bank. We will now keep one of each medallion in the Stash and re-stock them as they are taken.
There is also the option of members asking an Officer to take out any item from the TT, but in my experience members don't bother doing this for green items.

I don't really mind if i still get the occasional member cleaning out the Stash for the sake of 30-50 silver in vendor trash (now that less items are available). Consider it a honey trap aimed at exposing bad members who could potentially go and rip off other guilds with more valuable stuff in their bank.

:edit:
The real issue here is the fact that there is no medium between 'full access' and 'no access' to the bank. It is incredibly lazy of Arenanet not to add some simple controls to the bank that allow guild leaders to reduce the amount of loss incurred in these instances.

Regardless of your promises, you have a reputation that will be hard to shake.

You lost more in this event than we did, for the value of a mere 1 gold in vendor trash you have marked yourself on this server as a person who cannot be trusted. This info has travelled among the guild leaders and you will have a hard time getting anywhere with a decent guild on this server.

What guild leader is going to trust a known thief?

You still appear genuinely unrepentant for your actions, a simple "i was new, it was dumb, sorry" is not going to cut it.
You have showed no intention to make good for what you did, even now after you've realised that your actions have caught up to you.
I have no doubt that given the chance to do the same with no consequences, you would.

My simple fix was to assign one person to be the treasure keeper. Only that person and the guild leader has access to the bank. When someone needs an item they have to request it from the treasure keeper.

Of course it has to be someone that you trust.

That would work ok in a smaller guild. But with over 200 members, it becomes a little difficult.

We have it there to be used and it would just be to hard to manage if only Chappy and I + 1 had access and had to take stuff out.

I still would love it if they allowed a withdraw limit eg New members 2 items daily, Members 5 items daily etc... like WoW.

We have basically only kept the smaller Stash open, the other sections are restricted. The promotion process has also changed within the guild. Sure it's a bit more work and time, but with the limited controls this game has for bank limitations and options, there isn't much else that would work.

I do think they could make a few basic improvements to the banks as compared to Wow.   Also as noted above people are hesistant to take items from the bank even though that is why they are placed there.  So a lot of times items sit and collect dust because nobody feels justified to take things.  Personally i try to at least give back what i feel is equivalent when I see something I need as well as when I just have extra.  so for example maybe I need a level 80 exo knights gloves.  I will try and give back maybe a level 80 zerker chest or something along those lines.  I think If people had to request things it would feel even more of an imposition.

So after a few days to think it over I have a pair of screenshots and a bit of story to share with you. It's short so no need to TLDR. This is not a "I got ripped off" story, it's a "This person is obviously toxic" story.

This screen shot has an "Unknown User" taking everything out of the bank while H U L C was bragging about the issue of having done just that. The second screen shot is from the next morning when it reflected the proper account name.
As they say "Pics or did not happen" Here are the pics, it did happen, and this person is a toxic and unbalanced person who's whispers to me bouyed a sense of instability I wouldn't want in any guild I was in, much less leading. So as per the rules of evidence I think I complied with the requirements.
Thank you for your time.

Thanks for contributing.
It doesn't matter how bad somebody thinks a guild is, there is no justification for theft.

My guild had issues with this when we began increasing in size. To combat this i made the Guild Stash open to all members, and kept the Treasure Trove open for Deposit, but only allow Officers and WvW captains to withdraw from the Trove. If a member wishes to have an item that is in the Treasure Trove they can pm or mail an officer and request it.

I haven't had any issues since.

How do I go about getting removed from this list? I didn't steal any gold from [SPE] I called someone (i'll not mention who) out for being racist and left the guild and he began to smear my name. Turin please post the SPE bank logs and you'll see I didn't steal anything.

EDIT: Just to avoid any disrepancies, I won 8.4 gold in a guild lottery fair and square a couple weeks ago, and sent that back to the GM upon leaving. Also howdy Emhry Bay, sorry my first post had to be in this thread.

Edit2: Thanks turin, he cleared things up.
