Reddit User That_Shaman is known for Datamining the Dat file after patches. Before that, he took the world map and compared it with the GW1 map. I think that this type of map gives us a good idea whats to come based on where we have been in GW1. Quick warning about the clicky-clicky, its a really big pic with really high resolution.

that sounds so wrong. but apparently scarlet is some engineer, chemist, scientist, whatever altogether, so this might just be one of her exploits. i'd assume whatever she was trying to accomplish with this tower never succeeded as we stop it from happening. If anything I'd like to let her continue and finish and see what she was trying to do in the first place. But perhaps we will have answers in the tower..

So there's apparently a ton of those pulsing towers thingys around different zones now. Frit has found one in Cursed Shore yesterday. There are more in Snowden, Dredgehount, Gendarren, Harathi and so on.

Another Scarlet plot device - quite literally this time. With this deus ex machina Scarlet will suck up all the magic energies from Tyria leaving the Dragons to starve to death. Incidentally that would mean none of the magic users can use magic and Anet will have to remove Necros, Elementalists and Mesmers from the game. In the mean time Scarlet will retire to a countryside to attend her true dream - cultivation of a perfect radish.

Honestly though, I am VERY hopeful about the Scarlet story line now simply because of the Fractals update. I know what you are thinking, "WHAT?!?!?!#$!?#$#! SHE IS LITERALLY DEUS EX MACHINA AND THROWN IN AS A PLOT DEVICE! OMGWTFBBQ ARE YOU SMOKING?!!#?$!#?$!#$", but bear with me here.

These new glowy-thumping-phallus all over the world architecturally look very distinct in many ways. The top throbbing glowy bit looks like Aetherblade Tech. The Hard-thumping lower part looks like Molten Alliance Tech. The glowy shield around it seems to mimic that which was around the Krait tower and all the offshoots should you fail those events. These overgrown sex-toy-look-alikes popping up all over there place seem to be a culmination of all the previous story content. I am excited because it means something might finally happen!

An interesting project might be to go and find as many of these towers and map where they are on the world map. Maybe they indicate something? maybe they have to do with the dragons somehow? The Thaumanova Reactor turns out had something to do with Chaos Energy/Dragon Energy and was the first Inquest attempt at harnessing it. Perhaps Scarlet put them on that path? The prospects of this are pretty decent and has some great potential for expansion.

A bunch of phallic things popping up in the game world that when connected on the map form the shape of a giant middle finger.... sounds pretty legit actually. If I were a maniacal villain, I know that is EXACTLY the type of thing I would do.

On another note, I think they are really starting to ramp up this story and bring it to an end finally for a couple reasons. One big one is this "MMO Migration" promotion for GW2 going on right now. They are selling the game for 40% off and giving out free copies to people in a few weeks, so something is certainly coming to fruition soon which they will want a lot of people to see.

Alright, now I was surfing the interwebz randomly the other day and saw a GW2 Advertisement about the "Great MMO Migration" http://migration.gui...=19:1::::NA:2::

There are a couple things I need to ask about here. First and foremost, ArenaNet clearly wants people to migrate TO guildwars 2. Thats cool and all and this is a chance to get a free copy! If thats too much work, you can also pick up a copy at 40% off! BY OGDEN'S HAMMER! WHAT SAVINGS!

But the the real things that catch my eye on this page are the following:

Art work-
A building on a cliff-island-type-thing a la GW1 in the Giant's Basin area to the East of current day Divinity's Reach. I suspect that is what we are seeing here simply because you can actually see Divinity's Reach in the background. The only other place where we see this type of architectural style is around Lion's Arch in the area which is currently behind that giant Tengu Wall. I don't think thats what this is a picture of, though, since that area was hit by the massive wave which cleared out Lion's Arch pretty hard. The northern part seems to be pretty preserved. Does this mean we are going to The Watchtower Coast from GW1?

The content of the ad-
The ad is constantly talking about becoming a citizen of Tyria and live in Tyria. We already know that December is going to have some HUGE content updates. We already know about some massive changes coming to sPvP (being announced in a Blog Post on December 2), we also have these towers popping up all over the place giving us more stuff coming up. Anyhow, back to this ad. The results of the contests for free copies of the game will be out on December 10 as well! So basically, we will see a major content update and potentially more players coming in expecting to be new citizens of Tyria?

What could this mean? Could it be an indicator that we are going to see Player Housing?! It is something people have been asking for since launch (and before really). It would be something which people have been crying and demanding for ages. Is it finally going to be here? Could it be a new map? What is coming?

It's actually fairly interesting.  One of the main themes in GW2 is 'unity'--perhaps Anet is trying to show that the Pact aren't the only ones trying to kill Dragons.

Maybe Scarlet is a foil for Trahearne and/or the player character--trying to unite various, disparate factions in order to create a force that could threaten an Elder Dragon.  After all, the Pact did (or had the option to) some very questionable things during the Invasion of Orr--maybe a more practical hand is needed, in Scarlet's eyes.

It could actually work, in a twisted sort of way.  Scarlet unites various factions based on common purpose and greed--essentially bribing them to work together and become an extremely powerful force--then shows them that even if they manage to grab the power, the Dragons will still eat them, thus steering them to fight.

It could be an interesting little twist to the story, where the players somewhat take the role of antagonist and feel a little empathy for Zhaitan--constantly trying to stomp out a racial alliance and kill the leader before it's too late/gets too annoying.

Fritanga: I'd really hope they would put in Guild Halls before player housing.  If they do it right, it might be a more encouring aspect for players to stick to one server instead of moving around from place to place.

The WXP change makes me think they are much closer to rolling out new skills and traits. Maybe even December 10 thing is when it all begins.


Though on the other hand the new healing skill was just one skill and it was pretty shit so there's a lot of room for Anet to screw things up.

Yeah they said that at one point, but I think they also said rather recently that the story wasn't even close to done yet.

Me, I'm hoping you're right and that we're nearing the endgame.  They've made her essentially un-salvageable.

I don't see any in any of the starting zones so that's probably why tarnished coast doesn't have anything.  They probably don't want a replay of the sonic periscopes pushing about the new folks like in flame and frost.

Its been a while since I have posted what I believe is happening with regard to the story in GW recently. So we know that Scarlet is crazy but we really don't know the type of crazy that she is. There are two types of crazy she might be in my mind. Either The Joker-type where she just wants to see the world burn around her, or the Ra's al Ghul-type crazy where she is trying to save the world by cleansing the troubles aspects in fire so that out of its ashes, greatness can arise. So what type of crazy did staring into the Eternal Alchemy make her?

If we go with the Ra's al Ghul crazy type, then we see things a bit more sinister which may tie into lore. Consider that the Mursaat may have had the ability to look into the Eternal Alchemy. I mean, they were dicking around with dimensions and separate planes of existence already, whats to say they didn't ever view the Eternal Alchemy at all? To add to their involvement, they have had an issue with the Doric Bloodline in the past, trying to stop it through the White Mantle and keep a Bloodstone charged to hold back the Titans. What we have recently with the Scarlet story tends to involve a lot of those aspects of things.

Lets take a look at some of the things we now know about her and what she has done.

Bloodstones-
Need the blood of King Doric to activate and have the power to hold back minions of a god. Could they also effect a Dragon minion as well if not the dragon itsself? We know the Krait Obelisks are similar in properties to the Bloodstones and that Scarlet has been using obelisk shards to entice the krait. We also know that she has a desire to do harm to Queen Jenna (who is a direct descendant of King Doric). Could it be that she is trying to actually stop the dragons?

Alliances-
These alliances are annoying as hell and become sort of a plot device with her. Its not beyond a sinister master who plays the long-game to create alliances just to get something out of them and then wipe them out. The "Mysterious Devices (formerly the "Do not Touch" thumpers) seem to be hybrids of Molten Alliance, Aetherblade, and Watchwork tech. The glowy fields around them also seem to be like those glowy fields around the toxic offshoots. With that, its possible that she was working to make something with a specific goal in mind.

What will we see in the next 4 patches?
We have gotten a couple ideas of things from devs tweets and discussions. One thing popping around is that there is going to be a massive fight scheduled soon. What I would really like to see is a massive fight between Toxic Alliance, Molten Alliance, and Aetherblades all together against a full-on PACT invasion of a new zone with airships and chuggers, A full-scale war happening broken up by a swarm of dragon minions breaking up the fight making everyone fight together to survive. This leads us out west beyond the Brisban Wildlands.

Reality
We will see an invasion of Lion's Arch or some other area (maybe Rata Sum) and we will have a big fight where Scarlet will either be killed or we will get to view the eternal alchemy ourselves in some way.
