[EDIT] Everyone is going so in depth..soooo. I played GW1 from 8th grade through highschool as much as my crappy computer and internet would let me. I dabbled in EQ2 and then my senior year of highschool, my friends convinced me to play WoW. I played through my sophomore year of college on and off. Didn't get a max level until Sophomore year haha. Ret pally, aw yeah! I stopped playing near the beginning of my junior year of college, and also took time off college. You'd think I'd play more, but nope. Instead, I survived on the GW2 Beta Weekend events during what would have been my senior year of college. TADA

For me it started with old HTML 1.0 games days of geo city, AOL 7.0 CD's on a 56k connection. This was words with friends. Than it went IRC chat word games, java script games, java games. A good friend got me into my first MMORPG via. Telnet and mud / major mud games. I tried a few but necromium was the main one. From That i got into FPS half life, counter strike when it was alpha stage.( Ce.dust And mansion)and unreal tournament. From That point I tried phantasy star online for Sega saturn, than game cube, and Mario go kart online for game cube( hacked game cube to do online over WiFi) from than it was Lots of FPS games. Brother and I always liked final fantasy games. So when we heard online we both jumped. Loved FFXI 6 good years. A good friend of mine who We always grouped up and talked on the phone. She got GW1. So for a long time she asked me to join her and one pay day I got it and loved it. 3years later between FFXI and GW1. Work changed nee people rolled in and most played WOW. So I tried it for 5years. Than. Diablo1,2,3 starcrafts 2, Slowly faded out from wow and waited for PS2. I tfiend a few free to play MMOgames but nothing major. Minecraft Xbox and pc, and other XBox online games halo, battlefield, COD, And settlers of contain Online. That pretty much my history from start to Finish. Sorry old laggy tablet and keyboard making it hard to type.

I've never paid for an MMO before, and the fact that this "simplified" a lot of things, making it friendly to hardcore and casuals alike made it interesting(Me, in particular, because I've never liked complicated RPGs, being a shooter/action/adventure gamer for the most part). It changes a lot from the many other MMOs I've played, and that made me want to buy it, so I did.
I do not regret it one bit.

The next online game I got into was EVE Online in 2004 with my circle of RL friends. It was fun for a couple of years until too many people realised that there were pretty much no consequences to being a complete fucknut to everyone around you, so before long everyone started acting like fucknuts to each other and it didn't take long for that to get old.
After having paid a monthly sub to be surrounded by fucknuts for a few years, I was determined to find another game that {a} actually had rules about griefing, and {b} didn't come with a monthly sub. Around 2008 I discovered the original Guild Wars (Prophecies), and soon after completing that I bought the trilogy and then EotN. Between other games (like Oblivion and Skyrim for example) GW1 managed to hold my interest on and off until early last year, when I finally earned my GWAMM and 50/50 HoM...
...which of course led me here to GW2.

Awwwh, Don't worry. You're only as old as your Character looks. (Hopefully your character doesn't look old, or that'll be an insult rather than a compliment!)
Real Life - The Grapics are Top Notch. The Gameplay however. . . I've seen much better

BBS door games was where I also got my start in online gaming. Mine was Legend of the Red Dragon (LoRD) before moving on to other games like the aforementioned Tradewars and others I can't remember anymore. That led to playing MUDS like SWMUD which I played for several years.
That naturally led to me playing my first graphical MMO, Star Wars Galaxies which I still love to this day (RIP). The MMO that meant the most to me was Final Fantasy XI because it was the first community I gave myself to, the one I spent the longest time playing and the one with the most memories both good and bad. After that, I've played many different MMOs off and on but nothing will ever capture my heart like SWG and FFXI did. I was encouraged by a couple of my FFXI friends to play GW2 because it would better fit my time constraints now that I no longer have hours of free time on my hands. I expect to be playing MMOs for some time as I like to try different types of games from time to time.

The guys that made Club Penguin graduated a year or two ahead of me at the art school I went to. Sold to Disney for $700 million.
Friggin Club Penguin...
Anyways, I started playing FFXI on my 360 while I was in said college, guess I should have spent more time inventing the next Club Penguin

OMG PERFECT WORLD. K maybe I lied gw2 isn't my first first I played perfect world for a super short time... I didn't really play it my bf at the time played it and I went along to hang out . But I miss that game... The best part is flying, the entire vertical axis where u can fly and land on buildings and all sorts of stuff and I had my bf carry me cuz u can do that thats so sick but it's breathtaking views from flying and then flying over some crazy high level monsters and unfamiliar places is such a thrill lol and duels too lol
Yeah I didn't play it but I just got to fly around and watch LOLOLOL but I miss that game! I miss flying!! Imagine gw2 with vertical axis like the airships in Orr... And just able to see things from vertical perspectives and in WvW have fights in the air and call air strikes LOLOLOL hahahaha
I do miss those crazy high level monsters ur like scared of facing I wish gw2 had like a larger range like that

Yeah, it was a lot of fun til you realized the devs didn't give a hoot about you or what you wanted...like bug fixes. The whole APS things was pretty shizzy, too...but they've seemed to balanced that out, which is good...but it's still VERY pay to win.
