I started with Roller coaster tycoon at about 4, played it for ~4 years, (still scared to go on roller coasters thanks you video games) moved on to adventure quest in my early elementry school years, and then in 4th grade started runescape. after that i played a bunch of horrible games (minecraft, realm of the mad god, CoD, ect.) MY bud was forcing me to get dis game, got me into it, and promptly left the game and now is trying to get me into scrolls ("Woo mojang games") so yea im here playing dis game

If we're talking about multiplayer gaming in general, when I was 5-6 years old, I'd play Counter-strike LAN with my uncle. I think CS is my earliest memory of video gaming. hahaha

doing general gaming history now? I started on the PC, my parents will say by the time I was 2 I could type. I played lil kid games and watched my dad play things like Doom and flight simulators. Man, Doom was TERRIFYING in all it's pixel glory. o.o Eventually, my brothers and I got a GameBoy pocket and one of the pikachu gameboy colors and played Pokemon Red and Blue until one of them microwaved Blue version /sigh Then we got yellow. I played Wario Land and a few other games. Loved it. Besides PC games and Gameboy games, I didn't get a console until the Xbox came out. Then, I played Fable fable fable fable fable and jet set radio future. Maybe some other games. My Xbox Live account says I have the cheeves for a lot of CoD games, but that was my ex bf being a weirdo completionist.

Had a NES growing up and my fam would buy a new nintendo system every other console generation. I used my hard-earned money to buy games or upgrades. Big Zelda fan here. I was also into AD&D growing up. By the time high school hit I was into PC FPS games. My fav was Rise of the Triad. Also strategy games like Command and Conquer and Warcraft. First computer game I remember playing was Hero's Quest (named changed shortly after it was released to 'Quest for Glory: So You Want To Be A Hero') and King's Quest.

I met a friend in high school who introduced me to role-play chat rooms online and I loved it. From there my cousin's boyfriend introduced me to Asheron's Call just before I moved out for college. It was perfect because my friends played and I made more friends and I could still play with them and 'hangout' even if I was a state (or country) away.

Played AC for a few years, met my husband in that game. He told me Blizzard was making an MMO based on Warcraft. We bought it when it came out and played it until SWTOR came out. We were desperate for something different so we played that for a few months but got tired of it quickly. Then a friend of ours from WoW who played GW1 told us about GW2 so we hopped aboard and have been here ever since. I've dabbled in other MMOs but nothing sticks with me like a good medieval fantasy genre. <3

Currently playing: GW2, Diablo III, League of Legends, and >.>  Wizard 101. Hey, don't judge, it's a fun game when you don't want anything terribly serious to play. And I play it with my nieces and nephews.

For those who played FFXI what servers were you all on? and what expansions did you all play from and or up to? I went out to FFXI fan festival launch party for one of the expansions. Forgot the name lol it was out in Cali at the Santa Monica Pier.
Phoenix server for life! It had a great European and Japanese community of players and I actually preferred to party with them instead of most of the North American players. (I technically had no choice. I was on an overnight schedule.) I will be joining my old linkshell and probably some members of [TOSH] on Excalibur for FFXIV.

As for gaming history in general, I go way back to the Atari 2600 when I enjoyed games like "Combat" before moving on to the NES. Grade school was filled with "Oregon Trail" and "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego" and it wasn't long before I had to learn to hack my autoexec.bat file in order to play the original Civilization. My computer didn't have enough High Memory to run the game so you had to hack the .bat file in order to play. The first multi-player game was the 4 player "NES Play Action Football" that I played with my friends and learned that my friends suck at video games.

I played when it was first released in the USA and up until that one that took us back to the past.  I forget the name of that expansion.

Wings of the Goddess. Brought in the Dancer and Scholar classes allowing us to become Dancing Ninjas. Or Ninja Dancers depending on how you look at it.

Rise of the Zilart --> Chains of Promathia --> Treasures of Aht Urhgan --> Wings of the Goddess --> Seekers of Adoulin

For me, Chains of Promathia was both the best and worst expansion. Best story but hardest and bitchiest story missions that made you want to quit the game. Back when games were allowed to be stupidly hard and players accepted it like masochists.

That is right wings of the goddess, I also recall chains was the best mission line story wise.   I love it because it was hard really hard but also fun.  The only missions where you could spend 8hrs on one mission and it be ok and fine.   Also I loved  Treasures of Aht Urhgan.   Since it brought in the raids on the town and different enemy factions attacked it and sometimes two of the attacked.   Also  the  NM / RNM  mobs would spawn in mid battle and so many people inside the place fighting mobs. It reminds me of jumbo zerg fest with all the lag and players / npcs not showing up like in WvW

Chains of Promathia

That's what I meant :P
I was thinking Chains came after ToAU, but I also distinctly remember dancers and scholars so I guess I was around for a bit of Wings of the Goddess, but I was playing pretty sporadically by then.

I got into gaming because of my dad.  We didn't get to spend a whole lot of time together growing up as he was always deployed, but we would game together when we had the chance.  Started way back in Ultima Online then moved onto Dark Age of Camelot and Shadowbane.  Didn't really play a whole lot after that until Guild Wars 2 came out.  I tried the first one for about 15 minutes and immediately uninstalled due to the fact that your character couldn't jump D:

Gunbound -_- first game I played online against many people, which had clans. Gunbound > Survival Project > Maplestory > Trickster > Day of Defeat > World of Warcraft > League of Legends > GW2. Prior to that, for many people, Doom was a big thing, but Oregon Trail and Duke Nukem we're it for me as far was PC games go.

Definitely killed my need for solo player games and consoles, as the last system I played extensively was SNES and PS1. Geesh, looking at it like that, it sort of looks like an addiction, lol.

I got into online gaming because of my crush in highschool. She started playing this online game called ragnarok online so since I wanted to get close to her, I played it too.(We became a couple after a few months of going to her class on breaks, going out on weekends and adventuring throughout midgard during game time. I was the assassin and she was my support priestess. Grind for hours together win! LOL) I always liked playing RPG but I usually play them on consoles meaning I play alone. I always thought it would be awesome if I can share my achievements or fight someone. When I found out about an rpg where you can play with a lot of people. I went omgwtfbbq! Instant addiction to this 2D mmorpg!! I played the game for 6 years. hehe.

Come to think of it, when I played ragnarok online, I became a guild leader too of a decent sized guild with 3 branch guilds.

After that, I knew about the stress and work needed to maintain a guild so I didn't run a guild after that(It's been 4 years) until I played GW2.

Online games I played in order:
Ragnarok Online: Hatake Kakashi, Assassin Cross, played for 6 years, Guild leader and became a GM for my server. I finally decided I'm done then quit.
Rising Force (RF) Online - Inx, Accretia , maxed level, fully geared, got bored then quit
Mabinogi - Xignia, Human, total level 4000+, reflected about my priorities in life, then quit..hehe
World of Warcraft - Xignia, human mage, maxed out a character then quit
Rift - Xignus, rogue, became the ranked 1 in pvp in my server then quit
GW2 - Noice, Human Elementalist,FTF Guild leader and Ehmry Bay commander. Currently playing.

:D
Noice - Elementalist
Noice To Meet Ya - Guardian
Ahmegard Noice - Warrior
Where is Noice - Thief
Which One Is Noice - Mesmer
