HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
My first experience as a PVE Pugmander went exceedingly well. FORWARD PUGS! A quick sketch for Halloween.

I was bored, so I was studying Asuran anatomy. So many different headshapes.



Also, I'm pretty sure ANet said somewhere that Asura are Mammals (despite other people's theories of reproduction). Actual methods of reproduction aside, what changes does an asura's body undergo during said process? Other's comment on the clear lack of mammaries. But I think anet has stated that they are there, despite that lack of fatty tissue. I'm of the opinion that the mammary glands swell during periods of gestation, like in many other mammals.

Heres to hoping this doesn't creep anyone out. Dont unhide if you are opposed to a nude (non sexualization) Asuran form.

I read something about a female asura NPC who comments about progeny being worth the pain of childbirth, or something to that effect. (Oh, the stuff one finds online when one is bored at work.) I'd say it's pretty much a given that they're mammals. With that in mind, I've always assumed that females develop more pronounced mammaries when needed, i.e., when they have offspring to nurse.

On an unrelated note, I am madly jealous of your ability to draw accurate and rather charming asura.

And thanks sil. It is why I am studying asura anatomy though, because the proportions are wrong. So wrong. I have a hard time wrapping my mind around the proportions. I dunno why. Head/Body ratio, head/shoulder ratio, torso/leg ratio, eyes/face ratio. Its wrong aaaaalll wroooong. xD.

Looking again, I suppose I can see some wonkiness in the proportions. All in all, though, I still think they're pretty convincing. If nothing else, they definitely capture that ineffable asura-ness (which is totally a thing). Sometimes I see asura fan art, and I'm like "Do you even read my Christmas list?" "Have you ever seen an asura?" It's serious business, after all.

Not even close. Have you ever looked at an asura? ^^

But still, that's like say Cats aren't mammals, look at their proportions compared to a human.

I just think the head and shoulders look similar, the Asura neck is longer, and the legs are different.  They also look a little bit like those hairless cats.

Asura Emotions. I had a difficult time expressing emotion on these squished faces with no eye brows. >_<

Love the ears. The in-game ear movements are one of my favorite details about the asura. I like to think that they (unconsciously?) use them to help express emotion, rather like cats or dogs and their tails.

Oh Absolutely they do! Watch those ears when you emote. They go a long way to help with the expressions. especially /cry and /cower

Is he a skeleton with a pale white coat of skin too? Wow, I was beginning to think I was alone...

Granted I may be a massive Charr in game, but that doesn't stop me from picking the thinnest, most bones + skin looking Charr in the available body types pool

I used to do the same thing actually, small spaces are still more comfortable.  If you want to get over it there are a number of things that help.  As a side note, if leaving the house is terrifying already, not much that after that is any scarier.  If we can stand to leave the safety of safely confined spaces, we sometimes get the option of being superheroes
