Mmm, Could be. I have this unsettling bias that seems to lead me to believe that everyone on the internet is male battling with thier undersized schwanz' in full view of the entire internet populous, that is, until proven otherwise.

I tend to have the same views. Although, it has lead me to some awkward conversations in the past.

on a side note, I think one of the reasons we are standing up to SF surprisingly well (besides the obvious amount of time ET/EB have spent in SF BL) is because I've heard rumors that a guild or two left SF. Any confirmation on that?

If you notice, we are already a Very High capacity server. We are not going to get many more external WvW players. So we have to work with what we have available. We can either recruit from our current PvE population (thanks for the megaserver =\), or we can utilise unconventional tactics. We are not going to be able to zerg our way back into Silver League though.

Now, personally, I don't mind being in Tier 8. I prefer the flexibility to zerg, solo, or small team fight. If you guys wish to get out of the Bronze League, you're either going to have to do one of the aforementioned things (recruit or tactical rethinking), or you're going to have to leave the server. That's just what it is.

Para would be where I would start. They have the numbers on our server. Now if we can just get them to leave their fracs and dungeons.

I don't agree with this. This initiative is not about complacency. It is about fun.

To move up, we need better numbers/coverage, more trained players, and better coordination. You can get this by large scale world recruitment (not likely, and often counterproductive), or by community development (a long shot, but more likely).

Guilds like [Seek] play an important role in helping develop our WvW community by not only teaching players how to properly "havoc", but also by showing how coordination can be *fun*. God knows, a proper havoc is way more fun than a lame, half-assed havoc. This kind of fun gets players out in enemy BLs... which is good for WvW.

Depending on how this cross-server initiative is implemented, it has the potential to increase the enjoyment of WvW for some of our players. Heck, it's a social game. If it ends up being fun... more people will spend more time in WvW. This also benefits the server.

The only thing that concerns me is that whoever is promoting inter-server "events" has to realize that their view of "fun" is not going to be everyone else's view of "fun". This initiative only works if it can be pulled off without crapping on other people who want to play the way they want to play. It doesn't work if it alienates elements of our established WvW base.

Personally, if I want to run in an opponent's BL, I'm going to do it. If someone on Ebay gets pissy because I'm not focusing on the "right opponent", that's not fun. If this kind of thing ends up happening with any regularity, it will be hurt the community more than it will help.

We have seen some people from Para more often in WvW due to recent happenings which we all know about. So how do you suggest we try to get these individuals into WvW? That is what this entire collaboration is meant for. To create an environment that would lead other non-regular WvW players into the mode.

Matthen hit it on the head. Nobody is suggesting anything to take the place of WvW and any sort of RoE will always be ignored by some which is fine. Heck I honestly don't know (and honestly don't think it will be accepted at all and definitely don't think it should be a hard and fast "rule" instead just something to consider early in the week) if RoE that were originally proposed will be / is the answer. I just am trying to explain the fundamental point that everyone seems to be missing. It is a suggestion. Guilds and individuals can choose to ignore it but closer matches are more fun for everyone and more beneficial to a server than blow-outs especially if you're on the losing side. It could just be an additional thing larger guilds on these servers take into consideration when running large zergs.

What I have mostly suggested / think will work are times for organized fights. Be them 8v8, 9v9, 10v10, 15v15 guild fights or similar organized fights between randoms. Having a time / place where these fights could occur could add another dimension for the non PPT focused players of WvW that are looking for fights and make it more fun.

Yes we won't always play ET and AR. Heck if we were 22,23,24 every single week until seasons start we wouldn't always play them because there is a certain amount randomness to the match-ups. This is a bad week to have this thread started because we are matched up with SF. SF is a group that ET doesn't like much and has 0 night presence so even though they out PPT us during primetime (at least my prime-time by almost 100 points) we will beat them during late night and oceanic.

Para Shinies is a great place to start. Ronny has already been on that a bit. It would help greatly if he had some assistance.

We are not going to win competitive matches in the long term by buddying up with our opponents. Eventually we will either reach opponents who do not want us to win, or our current "allies" will have a change of heart. Either way, the long term effect is putting eggs in a basket which cannot be sustained. That may leave us broken, once again, as yet another "tool" is lost (e.g. 1800 people).

As for getting regular Para members and other PvE players on eBay to come into WvW... I'm not sure. Bram mentioned running "Exploration Zergs" to get people World Completion. This may entice some PvE players to come into WvW for a time, and they may like it and stay. We are slowly coming back up, recovering from some serious losses, but our core is likely here to stay for quite some time. We have enough generals, just not enough troops to lead.

I know most play during set hours for the most part. I do not. As such, I see what happens all through the day. Our server has shifted from an EU/NA server to an NA/OCX server for our tier. This can benefit us greatly (as it has already shown to a degree), but our EU coverage is seriously lacking many days. Some heavier recruiting during EU time would possibly assist this issue.

One thing I would not like to see, is us stuck in a specific tier, whether it be 8, 7, 6, 5, or higher. Not for my personal sake, but for the server. It is why we lost our people in the past. We sat in tier 4/5 (?) and faced DB/BP week after week, rarely moving forward or back. It caused a lot of frustration to keep hitting our heads against the same wall. The fluctuation has done us well in bringing in players. The key is how do we keep them? All of this has already been discussed, and people have been on track with it, but if we are to make a push to get permanently out of Tier 8, then we need to do it internally, not with external server assistance.

I would prefer to stay in Tier 8, but that does not mean I am going to stop playing to keep us here. It is what it is, and I play for fun, not for points. So, regardless of the tier, I'll still be here.

i worked yesterday, so most of the action already happened by the time i logged on.. so when i made that post there were only a few spots of blue, so i was mostly joking and poking some fun....  but i will say that after repulsing SF from our hills about 3 times (with only 5-8 of us, cuz that's all we had at the time) you guys finally came in after and... with about the same number as SF had been attacking with, gave us a MUCH better fight (culminating with epic fight in lord's room)... AND you had a secondary group cap bay while we were occupied in the fight.
