Just as long as the chokepoints aren't just a Necro funhouse of EotM-style fatal drops everywhere.

As for the class specialisations, I'm still hoping they're not a permanent switch if you choose to use them. I don't think it would be so bad if say, you could switch from druid back to regular ranger.

I do believe that it has been stated by A-net in an interview somewhere that much like Traits and Weapons you will be able to slot your specialization to whatever you want it to be while out of combat.

You can't get feared out of a waterslides chute.

I guess I'm holding onto the "Navigate treacherous heights with traps that blow your foes to the depths below" line too much then.

Because 18? classes is way, way too many.

Slein has a good point.

In Guild Wars 1, we had a serious issue with skill balancing, that ArenaNet eventually stated they would address in Guild Wars 2. They stated that it was too difficult to balance all of the skills properly due to the large sum of total skills (and their PvE counterparts). Now, we see ArenaNet is going to make that same mistake again, just to a lesser degree? I do feel the game is fairly balanced for the most part, right now. Though, I do not compete in PvP where that theory would really be put to the test properly.

"...skills, traits, and items are balanced, it’s a lot easier than the first game because the total number of skills doesn’t multiply into as high a total number of combinations." ~ http://guildwars.inc...ghts-and-skills

Hammers break less frequently than computers do. Yet, the hammer is under constant impact pressure, where as the computer is handled as a fragile device. The more complex, the more prone to error.

I'm not saying they should not add the specialisations. I am saying they will break a lot, for a while, until they get it hashed out.

I, for one, am chuffed about the expansion. This season of the LS kinda reminds me of the latter half of the personal story after Claw Island-- *yawn*. Such huge dynamic things that should excite us and it's almost like watching [insert popular pop culture reference of something to be abhorred].

I'm wondering if the professions will be permanent as well. They did expect their sales to increase 300% or so this year-- so new accounts bought during the sale, expansion, and maybe gem store purchases like character slots? The interchangeability of builds and traits in the game kind of makes me think that maybe they won't be permanent. Perhaps you could switch them out like multiple trade crafts-- for a cost. Perhaps having a beta for the expansion will help with the learning curve so people can make more educated guesses (the other reason being that the game breaks a lot).

All I know is that I want it, and I want it now!

The LS has been kinda yawn-ish for a while, but the last episode was just a joke. The player character is second-in-command of the Pact and basically Kind of a Big Deal, but instead of being there for the climactic attack on Mordremoth, we were chasing a cryptic salad person who stole an egg that some flying hippies lost and which still has no concrete significance. We don't even get the egg back, which is just insult to injury. The Pact fleet may have gotten rekt into next Tuesday, but actually being there for it (rather than watching an admittedly well-done cutscene) would've had loads more dramatic/narrative/emotional impact. Instead...cryptic salad person. Shiny egg. Magic Macguffin divine fire. Yawn.

I'm expecting the mastery/specialization stuff to work more or less like the current traits and utilities, i.e., once you unlock them, you can change them at will.
