Well, here's hoping ANet is smart enough to see past the ravings of people incapable of seeing past their own little myopic bubbles and looking toward the overall health of the systems that govern the broader game.  If you're only capable of looking at these changes through the lens of one build that wasn't even optimal in the first place, then you frankly don't have anything useful to add to the discussion about these changes.

Optimal doesn't necessarily equal fun. I play gw2 for fun. I play for my version of fun. I don't play for optimal builds and strict competition. I don't play to be number 1. Hell I don't even play to shrek people. I just play to relieve stress. You've no business to decide what people can and cannot get worked up over. You've business to call people small minded just because they don't find the same things important that you do. What do you benefit for insulting people? Do you think doing so automatically makes them see things from your point of view? Give it a rest will ya. I'm tired of your micro attacks on people for no GD reason. If I don't agree with you, I just ignore you. Show people the courtesy of doing the same, unless its genuinely an academic discussion and you aren't attacking the person in question.

Hey since it's been confirmed that the DragonSeason notes are not complete, does anyone expect the WvW updates next week too? Like changing WvW masteries, moving waypoints, and no upgrade costs?

I'm 99% sure the waypoint and upgrade changes are coming with the new map.  Since they haven't done a beta event for that one yet (and they said they would), I doubt that'd be coming next week.

They could do the mastery changes at any time, but they might just do it at the same time as the new map.

Yeah just reread the notes from the livestream and it says will start with beta map, laaaaammmeeee.

Apparently ANet never actually planned to murder speedy kits—it was an unintended side effect of merging it with kit refinement—so they've fixed it and given it 20 seconds of swiftness. Now I won't have to be slow literally half the time. :D

Though this does beg the question of how they missed it the first time, but whatever; I'm certainly not complaining.

Ascended Gear will remain 5% better than Exotic

I didn't see you had mentioned this. I saw the change when i started to play with the builds... But Im sure gonna miss backpack regenerater. not 100% sure how I feel about the change to supply crate. Might be useful for running away if I become coordinated enough xD.

Apparently the on-swap effects put you in combat, though, which kinda sucks. :(

I'm not sure backpack regenerator is a huge loss. I used it, but the healing always seemed pretty negligible. MIght've just been me.

I am so happy that Engi Mortar is not useless anymore, though I see that Mortar changes were done to split the old Grenade Kit's capabilities. Since Mortar is a kit, there's no cooldown when switching to or from Mortar anymore, and you can move around with it. Grenade Kit is only 900 range now, so Mortar replaces it as a 1500 range weapon. Grenade kit is still better at Vuln and Condi stacking, while Mortar's basic attack has higher base damage, and skills 2-5 are all combo fields (Poison, Frost, Light, Water - respectively), plus the Toolbelt skill, Orbital Strike, is a blast finisher. Get the Grandmaster trait for Mortar (Siege Rounds), and those combo fields last longer, and Orbital Strike now has two hits, one second apart and yes, both of those hits are blast finishers.

Looking forward to try it out in large-scale WvW. I'll be running Grenades-Elixirs-Mortar with Explosives-Firearms-Alchemy Specializations and seeing how that works out. It doesn't seem too far off from my old Engi Grenade-Elixir build except it is potentially a little better since it can go "6/6/6" in traits.

As a bonus, the Orbital Strike animation looks cool as hell. If you remember the Aetherblade "orbital" laser, it's basically that.

They wont put you in combat unless you hit something, and there is a cool down. I'm trying to figure out what the effects actually are though. From the look of it, bombs looks like a concussive bomb, or at least it looks similar to the concussive bomb explosion. The Elixer gun looks like glue trail. Which would be nice for  running away I guess. But if the area of effect is small I dunno how useful it would be. Will be ok if someone is right on your tail and they are unaware of the effects. I have mixed feelings about it. I think I preferred the kits as backpacks, at least visually. I look silly lugging around a sparking bomb in my hand. Overall there is some loss for all the classes.

People may agure that there is 'added functionality', but well see hoe good that functionality reallr is and if its honestly a good trade off. Backpack regenerator has kept me alive numerous times, I can't have it anymore if I want to have most of my build similar to how it used to be.

Sigh I hate the personalization lines...some stuff gd some stuff aweful onter subjects...nice to have to redo 8+ toons all over again cant imagine players with 20 toons....

Looking forward to trying out PvP tonight with the mesmer changes.  WvW I'm less certain about; do I want to go full power-shatter like I do in PvP or keep the inspiration line like I do in WvW atm...

Not taking Backpack Regenerator is a massive loss, and it may well turn out that Alchemy is still optimal for Engineers, but there are enough other really strong traits in other lines now that the considerable sustain you get from Backpack Regenerator looks likely to be sacrificed.
