Be it that other tiers aren't exactly like this id just like to put it out there that you aren't coming to a bunch of chest pounders or bravado slinging people who want to compare private size internal to us. You are coming to some foundational folks who are going to be less that and more inviting and eager to have you along but probably a little cautious. You aren't coming to folks who have had a lot of 'new' in a while so I would ask to bare with in the inverse way as we have had a certain harmony. I'm sure most of us are going to be sensitive about it being tainted but I'm sure we will do our best as well to be open to the possibility all of you folks bring by coming here.
that's not to say we don't have conflicts by the way, its to say that for the most part we have them and its water under. No love lost, onward March, back to the grind, another day another dollar and serenity hits again. Thats something i hope can be attuned to by all as it didn't happen over night.
In short, you are on a gem, I hope we all continue to make it something other servers are not and don't take the brilliance off the shine. Welcome all!

If you're new(ish) here, don't barge about like you own the place but please do own opponents in WvW.
Know that this isn't an empty / new / idiot-filled server just waiting to be filled with your way of doing things, it's an existing culture as rich, varied, and storied as any other... and may well do things differently than you are used to. Learn the lay of the land a little bit.
If you think / find / know that some other way of doing things is better (which isn't the same as efficient, prove your point by example-in-action and not by "people who don't agree with _____ are ignorant idiots and blah blah blah".
Nobody has the monopoly on idiocy, but absorption of new things into an existing ... culture... takes a bit of time.
So new people: don't be insoluable.
Ehmry people: don't be fossils.

Since beta launched three years ago, I was born and bred Ebay. I was a proud Ebay player and got my WvW feet wet here. I did leave, but I came back. Not once, but this is my second return, and I cannot say what will happen in the future, but I do hope I am here for a long ass time. I am part of Team Viciouz. An officer and a proud member of a force that is here for many reasons. At first, and all this is coming from myself, I felt we were welcomed with open arms. Many of TV are tried and true Ehmry Bay born as well. It felt like a reunion for some of us. Sadly, that all seemed to change.
Here's the meat of the post. It was brought to my attention that many of you are concerned about TV's priorities. TV intentions have been questioned and not to our faces. I have to speculate if the accusations concerning TV are in fact, true...or in my head. Because the back-handedness of the welcome, this is how WE do things here, and attitudes in general, I am left with a bad taste in my mouth. Bottom line...if you have questions, ask. One of the "concerns" that was brought to my attention. "Is TV here to drain players and bounce?" Do you want to know? Then ask. Don't whisper behind backs and assume. That makes an ass out of you and me.
As I mentioned before about tone, I feel I need to set it for this post. I am not angry, bitter or negative in any way. The premise of this is to get this off my chest. To inform you that TV does not have tricks up our sleeve. Also to say, I personally have felt some tension from seasoned veterans of Ehmry toward my guild. And I believe it stems from your questions.
Like it or not, things change. It is inevitable. Guilds will come and go and do so for the betterment of their guild. Server pride is real, and a special thing. I do feel it as well for Ebay. I love Emhry. For me, I just want to be part of a whole and treated fairly. TV...we are not thieves. We do care about Ehmry Bay as a sever and the population as well. We have respect. We are not asking for respect back, as that must be earned. Just give us, and other new/returning guilds to the server a fair shake.
In all Sincerity,

Note the irony in the two conflicting statements I bolded. I bring this up only for amusement's sake.
As for concern: we remember the last time that members of your current guild returned to Ehmry, pulled in people, disparaged Ehmry as a whole, and then bounced.
And we saw posts from members of your current guild on another forum talking about doing that again this time.
Is that enough for us to at least talk about with each other? That an incoming guild may be looking to farm members (again!) and then move back to a higher tier? I don't think it's so surprising that people mentioned it, but it is surprising that you don't think it's something that people would discuss.
That said, has it affected your play experience in the slightest? Nobody I know refuses to play / cooperate with your players or guild as a whole, so what difference does it make? TV is treated just like any other guild (and the individual players are treated just like any other individual players).
That includes the vagaries of personal taste, of course. There are people who can't stand me on this forum but have no problem playing with me in game. I assume the reverse holds as well.
If you feel that you personally, or your guild, is being discriminated against in some way, tell someone how that is. I have had no problem running / fighting with any of you so far if our paths cross, but I'm not going to join you either. I hope that doesn't feel unfair, because I have the same attitude towards the long-term Ehmry guilds as well, and I've been here since the start of the game.
Hope that helps.

I can say that when I started Ebay was #25, out of 25. People worked really hard together to change that. Ebay has a group of people here who have stuck together through thick and thin. When the going got rough, they tagged up anyway. When it was 4 people vs 30 man zergs on kiwi time for months, they still upgraded home BL pretty much every night. People here kept each other going despite overwhelming odds, depressing coverage, and guilds full of friends who left for greener pastures. Then when things got better, people managed to keep it together and keep having fun.
Some guilds have come and gone, a few attempted to spy, recruit or other nonsense. It happens. There has been one group or another trying something like that every month or two. We have also seen other servers get a big influx of new players, rise, implode, and then fall apart again. So while we welcome new players, and really enjoy all the fun new people, we want it to stay fun.
So if people on the server seem more loyal to each other than to people who have arrived recently that history is a big part of it. Trust and reputation tend to grow over time. The longer you are here the more people will trust you.
Also, you may not be aware that we had previously described the server as a group of pirate hedgehogs, who just want to be loved . . . . so if you notice some spines or prickly behavior . . .keep this image in mind.

This is one of the few times I can say this on the internet but read it literally, you can rest assured your feelings are incorrect in doing so. We benefit from you folks being back, In lots of cases enjoy it, Andrew got a big welcome from myself as I did enjoy his company In the gods days in ebg and I know Ari has given his welcomes as well. I went right back to saying sup GH when they pass by and its great to see you all fill out ts.
The reality is when most of the guilds exited eBay at the time it was toxic and it is absolutely not now. Thats something to preserve for existing players and for returns to look forward to since they probably left for that reason in part and something to note for new people.

I might just be jaded from being here for so long and that's not how the people really are but that's what I've experienced from not really having a guild till recently and being a mostly solo player.

People coming back to the server after they've left always promotes hesitance on those that have been here forever. Like Cassy said, what are you going to do? It's happened before and it will again. For now I give those coming back the benefit of the doubt. If they prove to be tools, then so be it.
But I think if we keep on keeping on as we have been and continue to foster the environment as it stands, maybe they'll just end up staying.

I am very happy to be back on Ehmry and am looking forward to whatever happens. If I had my way, no T5, but if it happens, TV will still be here to ride it out.
Must say a big thanks to some people who have reached out. Much appreciated and I totally needed it. Will keep this post short and sweet.

I would just like to say that I've noticed how resilient and positive you guys are. I try to be polite but sometimes my competitive side comes out. I am very vocal and very opinionated. I tag up when needed but have no problem letting others lead. I do get irritated when the sole tag on the map is running circles around the map or at spawn looking for fights and loot bags while we have a dismal tick. When those things happen, I will try to be respectful but will probably throw my tag up to get us back on track. I play to win. We win by points, plain and simple.
