Tough Choices for Everybody

A large group of ZOMG has chosen to leave Ehmry Bay server.
Our goal is to be moved before next reset.
This is not to be a goodbye thread, I am posting this merely because I currently operate the teamspeak server for the community.
At this point, there is one month left of donations to pay for the teamspeak server. It costs $15 / month to operate and I would be willing to continue to host it if you want me to (with donations) or I can turn over the database to whomever would like it.
Please just let me know what you would like to do.

That said... That is quite the shift from the tone of our last two commander meetings. Wow. It's not a tough choice. It's the easiest choice. Running away from the problem is always the easiest solution, and the one that solves nothing. Oh well.
That sucks. I liked running with your groups in the BLs. Hope it works out for you guys.

I currently use Digital Ocean and they have been great. http://www.digitalocean.com/pricing You could probably get away with the $10/month plan if you wanted and not have any issues unless the server population were to double overnight. It is currently running on the $20/month plan.
Since the mass exodus, bandwidth topped out around 600gb/month. At peak it was around 1.3tb/month.
You'll want at least 512MB RAM for it and it runs fine with only one CPU.
You will need to get your own Non-Profit License (http://npl.teamspeakusa.com/ts3npl.php) as they are non transferable. It appears as if NPL registrations are closed currently but should reopen soon (I will be willing to host until such time as they reopen).
The database can just be dropped in to a new teamspeak 3 server installation and it will pick up where it left off. The database is not large at all, just a few megabytes.
It is currently running on CentOS 6.5 32bit.

I don't want to have this thread devolve into what the previous "we're leaving" threads turned in to. I want to make sure that Ehmry maintains teamspeak during this transition.
If you wish to know our reasoning then please feel free to whisper me in game or send me a pm here.

Thuley, do you own the domain? I can see from a whois that is run out of GoDaddy. Do you manage the zone files for it? We would have to repoint the A record for ts.ehmry.com one evening when everything is merged.

Edit: As For [FALL] Don't think we're losing much there, nothing more like a ktrain no tactics more than anything.

I'll call Digital Ocean on Monday. The uptime and links have been pretty solid since you made the last transfer, so we should stick with it. The rates are not bad either actually. Unless someone says otherwise, I'll look at getting the server purchased early next week.
I still need to find out if Thuley administers our GoDaddy registration though.
