Yes, you will need to contact Thuley to get the DNS transferred.

I can point the DNS to something new whenever.

I do want to once again go on record and say that donations are not allowed under the Teamspeak NPL license agreement and can result in a revoked NPL license. See: https://support.team...r-on-my-website

I'll call Digital Ocean on Monday.

Not sure whether you'll be able to get anyone on the phone.  You can just create an account and check out what the distros as, I am certain they have Ubuntu, not sure about Debian, but you can use your own media to install as well.

I actually do have a 512-slot TS NPL license for ehmry.com and I can take over hosting I just don't have the time to admin the server.

Drakma, can a droplet be transferred to a different account?

We can find people to admin the server - I am totally game to help

No. Droplets can not be transferred. I can however help you set up the server if you like. It's actually very easy.

Whatever works.  I can help administer or just run it.  It's all good.

I have no issues with buying a droplet tomorrow if that is what we want to do.  I am not going to ask for donations though, not just for licensing reasons, but just because it complicates things unnecessarily.

Let me know your preference.

I also volunteer as a part-time admin if Thuley wants to take over hosting.

I feel like this shouldn't be something to be struggled over, why can't we raise a committee to admin it together instead of having one person shoulder all the responsibility and getting burnt out

Because one day the committee would be split on an issue and people will start arguing about how much they've put into the server and thus their vote counts for more ..... long story short the ts gets split into 2 factions and we get an angry forum post on this website. And, as much as I like a good forum post, I think we should have one person who ultimately admins. the the TS, and if we don't like the way they handle things we can move as group to another one.

i'd throw my hat in to help as well, but it seems there are enough people willing to take it on. I just hope whoever takes it on will handle it in the same way that Drak did.

wouldn't we want to have discussions of issues be transparent as opposed to things happening because of some internal monologue someone had in the shower?

if we'd rather not air out our differences in philosophies in public, then yeah i agree with you

OG is here to host if required between fluts and I and assist in any way possible.  Not really interested in the politics or establishing it, that's a bullshit story in the making.   I'm only interested and securing our server and making sure we wont lose a community asset. If someone else can achieve the objective by all means.

Right now I'm closing that we are ready to go.  If anyone else wants in before us we will move to the back of the line.  let's close in keeping it hosted licensed and running as is please and worry about any insecurities later.

Also Thuly I trust you 1000 percent...If you can host that is my preferred story... I think on a server admin level we can help.  I'm not a ts specialist as I said before so that part maybe better people are suited for.

Pretty much what Soul said.  This isn't a pissing match or power play.  I feel no need to whip out a ruler.

It's the TS for EBay.  I just volunteered to pay for it and admin it so we don't all have to play the paypal game or whatever.  It's $20 a month.  I spend way more than that on gems for stupid transmute crystals, skins, and random promotions, so it was no big deal to me.

Administration of the TS channels and whatnot would largely remain in the hands of the current admins.  I see no reason to change anything there.  Of course decisions regarding channels and admin rights would be up to the community and commanders at large.  This is not a dictatorship.  We already talk TS in the commander meeting as it is.

I am talking about administration of the actual server itself, meaning the linux server that the software runs on.  I run linux/BSD/Solaris boxes at work every day as part of my job, so this is easy to take on.  Someone at the end of the day has to maintain the health and security of the server.  Someone has to pay the bill.  Someone has to monitor the bandwidth.

If someone else feels threatened by having OG run the linux box, then by all means go for it with our blessing.  I'm not going to fight for it.  I just volunteered to help because I wanted to give something back to the community that I have enjoyed since shortly after GW2 release.

Put it up for a vote if you like.

What some see as a struggle others see as people stepping up in a time of need and offering their help rather than facing the loss of the TS server.

Since I own the domain I will host the actual server on the same provider that it's been on since Drakma took over.  The transition should be smooth as Drakma offered to keep it running till the switch can happen.  Once the switch is done we will ask a number of people who are active in WvW and who have a demonstrated history of keeping their cool whether they would like to administer the server so that we have good coverage.

No drama here.

I'd also like to thank Drakma for hosting the server since Entrox transferred it over.  It's been very beneficial to Ehmry, so thanks for that!

For what it's worth, I would be quite comfortable with Wump and Honeys keeping watch over TS through the night.  (EDIT: And Grav, obviously, that goes without saying.) I'm not familiar enough with the regulars of other time brackets to endorse anyone.

I actually am not worried about power struggles.  Admins inclined to abuse their powers are usually pretty good at finding a way to hang themselves.

The quieter you become, the more you can hear.

Hello everyone, Moxie Java here. Those of you who do not know me I am the leader of Paradise [Para]. With the recent events on Ehmry Bay I can understand some of the reactions and decisions people are making. I can however tell you that Paradise has no intentions of going anywhere while I am the leader of [Para]. We love Ehmry Bay, it has been our home since Beta and will continue to be so. As such I am offering our Teamspeak Server to all the guilds and players of Ehmry Bay. I want to clarify that this will be an equality server with each guild having their own sections an admin rights in each of their own respective channels. My main goal it to unify our server to the point of working with one another in aspects such as WvW and Live Events like Tequatl, Escape from LA, and The Wurm. While still retaining our independence from each guild respectfully. A few guilds have already made or are making the move to this server as a show of support for a more unified Ehmry Bay. I would like to think of this as an alliance for our community to grow on and organize in. I understand that there are many questions and I would be happy to take those by in game mail. IGN: Moxie Java.

I hope we can all come together through these means. If you are interested in moving your guild over please feel free to contact me.

I think we should stick to the original plan Thuly offered and not open the worm can again.  It's the wisest decision and the most neutral one for those concerned.  What is left is the admin assistance and I think the methodology to satisfy that is also fair and neutral. We definitely don't need a community split and this will cause it further if to hasn't already.

Please let's not split us further, a plan has been set, let's follow it.
