I have seen you kick ass in the past, and if you want to I am sure you will in the future.
However, your use of expletives makes it seem as though you are the inarticulate one here.  I'm not sure how it works in Poland, but here bad language largely ends before a person is considered a respectable adult so expletives are often considered puerile.

I pretty much take the George Carlin view of language.  There's no such thing as a "bad word"--the very notion that a word can somehow be bad is inherently absurd.  All there is is strong language, and it's nothing more or less than a useful tool for adding passion or emphasis to a message, which is all the more true in a written medium, since you have access to a lot fewer emotive tools in text.  And don't give me "simleys"--not only are they woefully inadequate, but they're certainly more "puerile" than profanity.

They have failed to balance because it's not POSSIBLE to do so. You whine like a little baby because you can't win a 1v1, and claim you're going to quit playing those modes because of it. What a child.

Excuse you, I most certainly did NOT whine "because I can't win a 1v1". Not only has my warrior *never* been stomped in a 1v1, but in fact, I would dislike having any class advantage because it makes victories less meaningful. You are quite obviously reading things which haven't been said to suit your needs. This, on top of claiming that balance is "not possible".

And yet, I'M the one with the "fallacy". Why are people as unintelligent as you allowed to exist? I never asked for your worthless input in response to my post; kindly do not address me again.

Absofuckinglutely.

To which I'll add: people who disapprove of swearing but will say "What the heck?!" instead of "What the hell?!l - you're swearing. If the word, usage and context is identical, it's swearing.

Either it's all okay, or none of it is. Can't be arbitrary because someone told you that a word was naughty.

My favourite is people who say "the F-word" or "the N-word" or whatever.  Whenever you use a surrogate, you're still causing the word you're trying to avoid to pop into the mind of your interlocutor, you're just abdicating responsibility for it.

Do people actually say those other than for comedic reasons? I've only heard that sort of thing when a child is relating something they've heard to a parent.

I like the ones who are all "Oh, darn! Oh, sugar!" when other people are around, but mutter "Oh, shit," when they think no one can hear them. Like, really? Convinced of your purity I am not.

That being said, "bad language" can be a crutch for some people; they can't articulate anything unless they heap filler profanity all over it.

Obvious joke about US news aside, I might be prepared to accept "n-word" from there only because of how much things seem to be racially (read: black) charged when reported in the US.

And by that I mean reports often seem (to me) to be forever playing this stupid game where the skin tone of someone is somehow relevant. "Members of the black community lined up at the lemonade stand were in high spirits" and "The predominately white Catholic area of _____ reacted strongly toward ____." sort of thing.

Sorry for the blanks, I couldn't think of anything that couldn't be twisted.

Anyway, in that kind of reporting culture, and driven by ratings, I can sort of see how they may have ended up saying puerile stuff like "n-word".

Still deep dish retarded, though.

The unfortunate reality is that race is a potentially explosive issue in the US. Should it be? No. Is it stupid? Yes. Should we as a society have outgrown this a hundred years ago? Yes. Is it still an issue all the same? Yes.

Other country's cultural quirks might be explained, but it often comes down to a "huh" at the bottom level if you aren't a part of it, like males and childbirth.

With how easily I annoy people, I'm WAY more worried about how heavily you buggers are armed, frankly. *ducks and weaves*

you two gentlemen would be best to take it to private message or a new thread because quite frankly, has no business in this thread.

I myself, can see where Bishop is coming from and his visions of this great server (as I have come to like a lot of you and the environment). As I read through this entire thread I can see both sides of the coin. I have been in that very spot. Perhaps not as bad as Ehmry had it, but SoS was getting there, imo. I also see Bishop coming to a new server and wanting to build upon the foundation that all the wonderful people that stayed on the server did.It does have excellent potential, btw.

But I digress. I busted my ass on SoS server. I did everything I was within reach to do for that server. I could come here and do that same thing, but I am held back because I'm a new comer and I don't want to seem pushy. But then again I really don't want to go back to that 1 thankless role that I was pegged with while on SoS. (this is what it seemed and how my time ended on a server that i fought for) I could and would help any that would like to learn or enhance your scouting/siegeing/desieging/upgrading/learning to fight for all of the above and havin fun while doing it, experience as I did it for about 2 years, (hit me up)

You don't know me. I don't know you. All I can go by is what I have read from each of you that has posted in various threads on this forum.

There is a wall up around a lot of the natives on this server and you have to earn their trust. You can't just go balls deep into a plan like this. It is a mighty fine vision indeed. But this family has been hurt and for some the wounds aren't quite healed over yet. Especially with returning family members.

We came to your server because we heard that it truly was a fine server to come to and grow on.

We just need to learn to not rush things. Every thing has it's natural order of things. Let things flow. But remember to open your eyes and not overlook something standing right in front of you.

I don't really think you are held back at all, its just all in the approach and frankly you don't sound like you will have issues approaching it the right way.  Take a shot.

My point wasn't that ooooh you are so naughty! Just that expletives are usually considered crude.  The words with Latin or french derivation are considered more articulate, words with Germanic origins are more crude.   It was deeply ironic that you were using such crude language to say someone was inarticulate.  It made me giggle, so I thought I would point it out.

And a writer is like a tailor, a good one can craft something brilliant no matter the materials given, but an artless one will always leave you looking shabby.  A good writer uses diction, punctuation, grammar, pacing, implication, inflection, etc in order to create eloquent prose.
A naughty puerile person uses emoticons! :P :P :P :P :P

I highly recommend that you don't bust a hump, get pushy, or get discouraged.  Have fun, get to know people, be nice, and most people will be nice in return.Try to do things in a sustainable way that makes it fun for you.  Otherwise you will just end up burned out, and/or bitter, and that is as much fun as a bag of spiders.

These forums tend to be the most dramatic part of Ebay.  Some of us poke one another a bit verbally. It is like hedgehogs trying to hug each other . . . .

Here is a picture of a hedgehog and a cat hugging.  Just in case you weren't sure if we could all get along :)

From what I have seen you have a good guild full of fun people, and I have only heard good things about you guys.
