As fer as I know Largos only care about combat. In a way they are based on Samurai culture of old Japan. They are really proud of their fighting skills and even more so of the reputation of their Houses. Speaking of witch I'm not sure, but we might have only encountered members of a single Largos House - the House of assassins, it is entirely possible that Largos as a society have many different Houses each being famous for something. There's just not enough information to make any judgments on the Largos as a whole because so far we have only ever dealt with individual and very secretive individual at that.

I have noticed that there are Largos appearing in other maps now... I just wonder if there is more to them than just a cool race of assassins.

Most likely.  Since they are completely humanoid, that'd put them ahead of the other para-races (quaggan, grawl, centaurs, etc) as races to be added in an expansion, simply because it'd be easier for Anet to adjust the current armor models for them from the human/norn models than having to redesign them from the ground up like they'd have to do with a race like the charr.

They'd be perfect if Anet releases an expansion or content pack for Bubbles.

So, there's been a lot of discussion in the official forums on Bazaar of the Four Winds.

1) The Zephyrites are successors of the dwarven Brotherhood who had protected and worked alongside Glint, the dragon

2) They built a sanctum to separate themselves from the influences of the outside world. However, the short story posted on Guild Wars 2 site has a disclaimer that it may not be accurate information and suggests it is a new airborn sanctum built with help from the powers that Glint's crystal corpse granted them, after Destiny's Edge confronted Kralkatorrik, which is not a long time ago. Yet, there are NPCs who admit not having been on land for all their lives, or they joined the sanctum at some point and that the sanctum has been around centuries ago etc. NPCs also claim it is almost mythological and no one knew if it even existed, but now we get to see it and visit it. Some players contend that oh its just a new ship, while others say the sanctum was just a high place before, and they built an actual flying ship after Glint died. There's a conspiracy going on here, intended by Anet I believe, what are your thoughts? What are their true intentions?

3) They are of Canthan or Elonian descent, why?

I think that they are of Elonian descent because of the Crystal Desert bit... perhaps refugees fleeing Palawa Joko stumbling on the Dwarven Brotherhood and adapting/adopting their ways of Glint worship. Then you get nomadic people fleeing their homeland to a place and finding refuge with the stone dwarves (I guess they are stone as the other dwarves are) of the Dwarven Brotherhood, only to see a few years later their great protector, Glint die. The ascension stuff all over the Crystal Desert could make these Elonans want to ascend themselves... of course in this the ascension is less a metaphysical ascension and more a literal one, and they become the zepherites?

there are a lot of ways that can come about. They mention it being 1320 when Glint is killed and the Zephyrites leave the Crystal Desert. Present Day GW2 is 1326. It's not uncommon to believe that there had been some migration and movement between Cantha prior to and after those dates.

1127 is when Emperor Usoku kicked all the non-humans from Cantha and began the isolationist thing. Between 1135 and 1275 Elonians were dealing with Palawa Joko, with the mass exodus being towards 1275. There can be decades of people being raised as Zephyrites who are of Canthan or Elonan descent. It was a Dwarven group only up until Humans discover it in the 1070's.

Wooden Potatoes just posted a new video on This very topic!

He says that the Zephyrites are Canthans, just as you say, and that they also have some Elonans as well. I guess its just a congregation of people who have come together. Interesting theories posed in this vid!

Time for another whacky idea... it has been revealed on reddit that we are going to see a "royal terrace" added soon which will be a sealed area with gates to all the cities and crafting stations. The common belief is that the location of this terrace is Divinity's Reach perhaps in The Collapse.

I think it will be either in Fort Trinity (because we lack any crafting and only have mediocre travel to the orders hq's) or perhaps Coriolis Plaza in Lion's Arch.

Wait... Lion's Arch? We already have access to the world and all crafting there!

My theory is that this area will be for the crafting of Ascended Gear. That the new area will be a special place to craft from 400-500.

To support this, the NPC in Coriolis Plaza mentions that the Queen has something to do with the construction of the gates.

What you mean by "a sealed area"?

In any case this whole affair seems fishy. Tbh no one cares about Fort Trinity and no one should.

The idea of making more gates to the cities in LA is incredibly stupid because we already have those; the same goes for adding more gates in DR. There's no point to make more gates on top of already existing ones that go to exact same places.

I would much rather like it to be something new or unexpected. How about making Hall of Monuments a new hub? With some magical explanation for special crafting nodes or something. Better yet, how about making a new map where Arah dungeon is? Create like a research/guard camp right in the middle of the ruins and since the dungeon is a separate instance they actually can put a new zone on top of it. How cool would that be.

Sorry, I was in Atlanta for the day and was unable to provide links and other such things to back up my crazy theories. Now that I am home though.....

Ok the thread where they mention the Royal Terrace in a datamine of the dat is http://www.reddit.co..._and_much_more/

The significant segment that pertains to the Royal Terrace is

Quote

109813_0777 Special Access Pass!
109813_0825 Gain entry to the Royal Terrace in Divinity's Reach.
* Asura Gates to All Cities
* Crafting Stations
* Bank and Guild Bank Access
* Mystic Forge
* Merchants
* And more! All within easy reach, for those who enjoy the ultimate convenience.

Now here, it mentions that the Royal Terrace is in Divinity's Reach. That pretty much blows apart the Lion's Arch or Fort Trinity theory (as I said earlier, I was on a cell phone at the time and unable to verify or check facts). But I still have a feeling that the Royal Terrace has something to do with the crafting expansion mentioned in an earlier post. I know that it is something sealed or isolated from the rest of the world because there is a pass to gain entrance to it. Perhaps it is something like the Hall of Monuments in that there is an activation stone which teleports you to it, and then you have access to the gates.

The answer to the stupidity of making gates on top of gates already going to places is a valid argument. This does beg to question that there are then gates in Divinity's Reach on some Royal Terrace that go to Lion's Arch (as well as other places) when there already is a gate in DR to travel to LA. Strange stuff we will have to wait and see with.

Personally, I would really like to see Fort Trinity get crafting access and better gate travel. Likewise, I would really like to see them start converting the Orr zones into more jungle-like or lore-appropriate environments, losing the taint of Zhaitan. In a recent interview, it was revealed that nothing is off the table for dungeon revamps. Colin even made mention that the Zhaitan Battle was rushed and is pretty lame and how the personal story begins to shift focus from the player into other people. He said that it was a problem and they are looking into fixing it, even if it means completely redoing a dungeon from scratch to fix it.

I am optimistic. Cautiously optimistic.

I agree that Orr needs a makeover badly, the personal story already cleansed it billions of times and Zhaitan has been killed billions of times lol

Fort trinity and more interestingly to reveal more of Orr bc we only see half of it... When "Orr" is supposed to have been cleansed and Arah is the center... Then what's the rest of it doing all hidden

And this DR deal is kinda weird, why make DR a hub, bias on humans I'm sure people will complain. I have no personal complaints, the city is beautiful and I wish we could hang out there all day haha but I just don't understand why.

As for the great collapse I really want more on it. Strange sounds from underneath, conspiracy with guards saying it was safe prepared evacuation and citizens saying it was dangerous and sudden... Knowing that under DR is an extensive catacombs ...And that gaping hole that goes so deep. What kind of creatures are underneath? It almost directly suggests that.. Wish we can get more to explore in this hole, whether it's a new dungeon instance or literally stuff to explore ... All this of course ignoring the dumb political racist reasons about canthan architecture style and whatnot lol

What I am hoping is that the Royal Terrace is like the Hall of Monuments. You get a stone or something to gain access to it from anywhere in the world and you can use it to teleport for free to any city. Throwing in crafting and mystic forge access is an added perk. If this is just something located in Divinity's Reach somewhere but is inaccessible from the city directly, I think it has potential to be great. I see if it is something like this being several key benefits:

1. Free transport to any major city from anywhere (Players have been asking for free map travel to Lion's Arch for a very long time. If this gives us gates to all major cities, then that is even better)
2. Mystic Forge Access from anywhere (we had the Portable Mystic Forge Conduit that had been around but removed shortly after launch. This would fill the gap left by that removal)
3. Crafting from anywhere (This has been somewhat mitigated as an issue because of the portable crafting stations. Those are rather costly and I believe can only be placed in certain locations. If this is something we will have access to, then its really cool.
4. Merchant access from anywhere (pretty much the same as above)

So I can see the value on this, but I also can see that it would have the potential to pull people out of cities. I mean, people would have practically no reason to go into a city ever again with this as an option.

Umm... Do people have any motivation to go to any other city besides Lions Arch? I mean after your personal story is done with there's no incentive to go to other cities anymore. The only reason to use the asura gates is to mitigate waypoint cost.

Free porting to LA? Go to PvP or WvW and use the gate there. It would be cool to eliminate one loading screen, but not really necessary.

I can see the reasoning behind getting another crafting zone and a new hub. But. I don't see any benefit in putting it in DR. Like going back to my example a research/guard settlement in the city of Arah would make more sense lore-wise and it would be new and fresh. It is just so straight forward to make a new hub where the story ended and show the actual results of what we did (mostly Traherne and Destinys Edge, but we helped! ;P)

What can DR offer besides what already have been done? Maybe Fracltals entrance. Maybe another dungeon, though i highly doubt it. Anything else?

I agree with you totally on the "Why should we go back to DR" thing. The only real answer I have is that DR and Rata Sum have the most interesting developments to them (that we have seen).

Divinity's Reach-
The great collapse, while being a hole to remove the Canthan District for whatever reason, is still a giant hole in a major city. That alone creates great intrigue. The portal to Ebonhawk is another benefit to DR since Ebonhawk seems to be a gateway to the Crystal Desert. From what some devs have let slip, the story taking place in DR will involve Destiny's Edge and will begin to wrap up certain aspects of the Living World story in a way that will push us into a new chapter in Personal Story content. The only real question is how long will we be in DR until that happens? DR has great potential since it has representation of all the different zones (albeit less so than Lion's Arch though) which we haven't been to yet. Because of this, it could be a fantastic springboard into new zones.

Rata Sum-
Okay, this one is a big one. The city on its own is pretty boring. There is a certain level on intrigue though since Fractals were introduced. That one fractal that seems to take place in a destroyed Rata Sum really has created some speculation. Personally, I would love to see one cat golem walk around the city with no real reason or purpose. I just think that it would be start to drive the community nuts. Another thing that they could do is start using the zone under/around Rata Sum. The area in GW1 had some amazing vistas and scenery that has been mitigated in GW2 to being just under or around the floating cube. I would love to see it pop up in GW2. Other things to note are Oola's Lab (while I know there is another site for that in metrica province, the one in GW1 is under the cube) and several other dungeons from GW1 are in the immediate area as well. There is just a lot of potential.

Both of your points about these two cities are great. They are things I've always been thinking about as well... Especially the great collapse...they better deal with this. Haha. Like i mentioned, strange noises beneath and conspiracy/differing recounts of events? Like that's some crazy intriguing stuff there. And Crystal Desert YES I WANT!

Rata Sum and the Asura race and its lore in general has alot of unanswered things, good point about fractal, i never thought that it was a Rata Sum... but asura stuff to me is kinda way more vague, just cuz there's so much lore to explore if they wanted to delve into it. From asura being driven out from underground to all the details and like if we get Thaumanova fractal that deals with the mists and possibly Primordus and stuff, it's just too much to tackle.

I would rather see DR get things answered first.

Gw has so much lore... its such huge undertakings. Personally I think they're putting too many new things to handle. They should close off and answer some open ended tangents first before adding so much stuff like irrelevant living story whatnot

It looks like DR is getting a coliseum-type thing where the collapse was. There are some renders floating around on Reddit now.

Also, it has been revealed that the next event happening August 6th is The Queen's Jubilee. During this event, representatives from all over Tyria will be gathering to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Queen Jenna taking the throne of Kryta. During this event we will witness the dedication of the new Crown Pavilion (possibly pictured above) and that there will be Hot Air Balloons involved too. The actual text as posted by MMORPG today (thanks to a promotion sent to them by ArenaNet) reads as follows:

Quote

Queen's Jubilee to Commence August 6th
By Royal Proclamation, Her Majesty Queen Jennah of Kryta welcomes you to join the citizens of Divinity's Reach in celebrating ten years of her rule.  Her Royal Majesty Queen Jennah will personally dedicate the new Crown Pavilion and open ceremonial contests to celebrate the indomitable spirit of the Krytan people. Hot-air balloons stand at the ready across Tyria to convey celebrants and well-wishers of all races to Divinity's Reach.

I am thinking "Ceremonial Contests" = mini-games.

I have read up on the new patch and it seems they want to go back to the roots so to speak. Back to the main cities, back to the race based stories. Overall seems pretty cool. I actually am looking forward to this patch way more that the election one.

But. I have to say if they just cover the great collapse and just finish that part of the story with all of its mystery it would be a waste. I really wanted them to use such a great set up piece to do something with it. A dungeon, a gateway to the underground map, a Halloween/Karka-like invasion scenario - just something. If they are just letting it go I will be a bit disappointed.
