What's so strange or surprising or "unfair" or whatever about having a decent variety of basic gear sets available to everyone, and offering some more specialised, supplemental gear sets to those willing to invest a bit more effort into building their characters?  That sounds pretty much RPG's 101 right there.

I looked up a guide to claiming a hall and we need like at least 10 people it seems.  2 groups that split up

Edit: scratch that, pretend I said nothing.  Apparently it's doable with 5 or less and its fairly easy to boot.

Pretty sure its still fairly brutal. Takes about 20 mins. Watched two videos on it. I hope we do well >__<

We can do it with 5.  Opal and I helped a guild with just the 4 of us.  We only failed because the last one wasn't taking damage.  On a side note, I am so slooooow to run to the next spot

Yep and unfortunately due to me working on my precursor scavenger hunt I'll be in spvp and possibly some WvW for a good while getting the shards and memories of battle :/  I need 200 of each.  But don't worry I already have like 15 of each XD

what kind of shards? because a chest train gives you shards the fastest if i'm not mistaken.

The ones you get from wvw rank up chests and from spvp rank up chests and reward tracks I believe.

No not obi shards.  It's a new tradeable currency that is only obtainable from spvp(shards of battle I think it's called) and WvW(memories of battle).  But you only get like 3-5 per chest so I'll probably end up buying a lot of them.  And they aren't cheap, like 15ish silver a piece
