Hm. I guess I need to read up on all this at some point. At any rate, I might tag along if you head to WvW—I have a lot of characters that need a lot of HPs, and those proof of heroics things are pretty handy.

Yeah, solo roaming at our current tier in a new BL isn't very safe till we learn the map more.  I'm not going to rush making the precursor though, if I do I won't have money to buy what I need for the actual legendary

So in that spvp match I did with fayt and calen last night there was a MM reaper.  That build is super tanky and basically just out lives you by slowly bleeding you out.  I'm curious to see what other builds have been made that will suck to fight against in either spvp or wvw.

Claiming guild halls is pretty easy. Go to the points, kill all the things. Then you kill a big noob with an axe.

Yeah, reapers are stupid strong right now.  That or since they overhauled the pvp system I'm not being matched with people of similar skill level right now, which could easily be the case.  All I know is 1 reaper can tank 2 people easily while still dealing good damage and almost always having shroud ready.  It sucks

well pvp ranger trappers/stealth...is nasty also in pvp with the limited space and the condi traps and the pew pew yesterday...

My feelings on stealth aren't a secret, but I will say that I respect SB rangers. They can't just rely on rapidfire for easy burst, and the ones I've seen seem to play smarter with their weapons and utils than their LB-spamming brethren do.

You have to kite reapers - they're designed to be nasty if you try to brute force them.

Yeah I noticed >.>  I think it's mostly that I haven't pvp'd regularly in like 4 months or so.  So that combined with having to learn to fight against the new elite specs is giving me a hard time.  Against the pre HoT specs I'm still doing ok but the new stuff really screws me up atm.  Time to learn how to play all over again.

Woot, I dumped that first bit of mats into that one so we could start getting that xp bonus.  So thanks to whoever finished it off!

The meta in sPvP is completely different from before.  If you're still trying to play the stuff you were using 4 months ago, you're in for a world of hurt.  Overall, I'd say there's some significant power creep in the new builds.

I was using a scraper build from Wolfineer but I had the wrong amulet on.  Had on maruader instead of soldier, oops.  I just did a match a few minutes ago and it was the total opposite from last night.  I can see the power creep though.  Elite specs and rev are a bit harder to kill and hit harder then the older specs.  Saw that coming though

We did a quick match last night for the guild mission, and I went in with a condi rev build that I've barely used. Overall, it went better than expected. The rev definitely has an interesting bag of tricks.

I don't know what the build is, so maybe it's good, but I wouldn't look to Wolfineer for PvP builds.  I've never seen him come up with a good one.  He's an okay go-to for PvE or WvW roaming stuff, but he's hardly an authority on PvP.  

There is a viable soldier's scrapper build in sPvP, but it's not the sort of build I'd want to use in solo queues, because it's purely team fighter with way too many bad matchups.  The predominant Engineer build right now is a Celestial Scrapper build with Firearms and Alchemy, which is more of a node fighter and has a way better matchup chart.

I think your thinking of either Nike or Brazil.  Wolfineer is known for his wvw stuff and only recently has he started doing more spvp, stronghold to be more specific.  The only pve builds he has done is a farming build for tagging stuff in events.  He stopped doing pve builds over a year ago.
